DID YOU KNOW?
  • This is Montreal's first-ever MLS home game and the club has already sold over 53,000 tickets for the Olympic Stadium.
  • The Impact lost their season opener to the Vancouver Whitecaps 2-0 thanks to goals on either side of halftime from Sebastien Le Toux and Camilo Sanvezzo.
  • Chicago was out of action in the first weekend of MLS action, meaning this is the Fire's first competitive match of 2012. The team rounded out its preseason a week ago with a 3-1 win over NASL outfit Minnesota Stars FC at Toyota Park.
  • The Fire's first choice in goal, Sean Johnson, has been called up to the U.S. U-23 national team for Olympic qualifying. Head coach Frank Klopas will have to decide between 30-year-old Jay Nolly and recently-signed Internazionale youth product Paolo Tornaghi to start between the posts.
  • Montreal's Zarek Valentin will join Johnson on the U.S. Olympic team and thus also miss out.
  • Against Chicago, Impact head coach Jesse Marsch will try and score his first MLS win against the team that he spent eight years playing for, winning an MLS Cup and three U.S. Open Cups in the process.
