That's it from France! A fantastic game in the end. Join me again for live coverage of Italy v France from Parma on Wednesday. Until then, keep it here on Goal.com for more coverage from around Europe. I'm Mohammed Ali, good night.
90' + 3'
FT: Montpellier 1-1 PSG
90' + 2'
Danger for Montpellier. Menez goes down just outside the penalty box. The two minutes have been played. Can PSG steal a winner?
90' + 1'
SIRIGU! Top save by the goalkeeper to deny Montpellier at the death, meanwhile PSG are on the break here. It 's picked off however, as Montpellier are denied by the referee.
TWO ADDED MINUTES at Stade de la Mosson
LAVEZZI! Brilliant play, into the path of Gameiro, and a fantastic tackle from Bedimo to deny PSG. Brilliant.
Matuidi almost punished for dallying on the ball before being bailed by Thiago Slva. Van der Wiel gets it away, and once again, safely plays it back to Sirigu, from 60 yards away!
Inswinging delivery was poor, and it's hurrieldly cleared, but Menez's fast break catches Montpellier out, before the cut-in makes it a whole lot easier for an interception to be made by Bedimo.
Here we go then. Cabella lets fly from distance, and it takes a little touch off Alex, even though it was set to fly wide. Montpellier must make this count. Flare on the pitch though, and it's the PSG fans.
Sirigu is once again a solid rock at the back. His aerial range is fantastic, as he takes off Bocaly's cross once again. Both sides looking for the winner, minutes remaining in this one.
No is the answer, as the ball comes off Lavezzi once more, and cleared by the defender. Saihi is in some pain after an awkward foul.
PSG looking to fashion a chance for the equaliser as Saihi is forced to deny Matuidi but concede the corner. Can they get something here?
Maxwell goes on yet another attacking foray, attempting to pick out Gameiro, but Congre is there to deal with it.
Nervous looking Montpellier wall, and it's literally just 20 metres away. Alex is to take it - and it's FLYING OVER! Poor one, had a lot of scope to test the goalkeeper.
Ancelotti fumes as PSG are given a free-kick just outside the box after El Kaoutari's poor challenge on Gameiro. Alex is over this. He will thump it with power.
Corner is a poor one, as it deflects off Lavezzi and leads to Bocaly turning it away. Motta makes way for Kevin Gameiro. PSG going for it here.
Fine lofted pass towards Maxwell on the left, and Congre tracks back to deny the left-back, who was looking for Menez at the far side. Corner to PSG.
Charbonnier departs, in favour of Emanuel Herrera who has yet to fill the big boots left at La Mosson by Olivier Giroud. Gameiro is preparing to come on too for the final 15'.
Menez attempting to pick out Lavezzi, but Mounier breaks clear, and Alex produces a scintillating tackle to deny Cabella's shot. Fantastic break by Mounier though.
Look at the possession statistics on Goal.com's MatchCentre - Montpellier lead 59% to PSG's 41%
Yellow Card Gregory van der Wiel
So, where can this one go? Both sides with ten men, and the hosts a little on top at the moment. Tweet me your suggestions @mohammedali_93.
Maxwell has been rather solid this evening, on top of scoring the goal. A yellow card for Van der Wiel after taking down Mounier. The Dutchman hasn't been at his best this evening.
Yellow Card Jamel Saihi
A thoroughly exciting, and a little bit controversial encounter in Ligue 1 this evening. As it stands, PSG would return to the top, but albeit, only on goal difference.
MENEZ! Fantastic save by Jourdren as the goalkeeper does well to parry the ball away. Menez tricks his way into the box and fires low and hard, and the goalkeeper is equal to it.
Yellow/Red Younes Belhanda
RED CARD = Younes Belhanda! Stupid by the midfielder, as he is sent off for a rather rash second bookable offence. It's ten against ten at La Mosson, and it makes for a very interesting last 25 minutes.
Ancelotti's side are definitely on the back foot since Mounier's introduction. Belhanda picks out Bocaly on the right, but the ball is dealt with.
MOUNIER! Ooohhhh, what a fine strike, and narrowly over the bar. Great movement as Belhanda picks out the substitute and fires it on the half-volley. Superb technique.
Poor Matuidi dispossession in the build-up for that goal, as Montpellier race forward in search of a second. Cabella fires in once again, and its blocked by Thiago Silva - suspiciously, by his hand. PSG are rattled.
Goal Rémy Cabella
GOOAL!! 1-1! REMY CABELLA! Superb Montpellier break, as PSG are left open on the left. Mounier is on the overlap, but Cabella instead cuts in slightly and fires in at the far post. The fans go wild, the hosts have equalised!
MAXWELL! Ah, its chipped again, and just gone wide. Lovely touch on by Menez and the combination was fantastic. Maxwell wraps it around his foot, and it's wide.
Anthony Mounier comes on for the toothless Souleymane Camara who has been rather ineffectual this evening.
@elebuagibson on Twitter: PSG doing a good job - keep them coming to @mohammedali_93
Corner taken by Estrada, and it's an easy take for Sirigu. It was delayed, the corner - after a flare exploded just behind the goal. Meanwhile, Mounier is to come on for Montpellier.
CABELLA! Oh my, that was mightily close. A curling effort inside the box from the winger sees Sirigu get the slightest of touches to take it away from goal. Superb.
And there it is - the substitution was coming, as Verratti is taken off for his own good with Clement Chantome coming on in his place. Ancelotti will not be happy.
CHARBONNIER! Good movement in the box as Estrada whips in a fine cross, which the striker gets in behind Thiago Silva to head narrowly wide. They're improving.
Yellow Card Younes Belhanda
Handbags once more as Motta is challenged by Belhanda. Verratti races in to be involved, already on a yellow and Maxwell drags him back in fear of getting a red card. Belhanda booked for his tackle.
Lavezzi working industrially on this wing, and after he goes to ground with a fair challenge, Saihi dives in on Menez which sees PSG awarded a free-kick.
Yellow Card Marco Verratti
And Marco Verratti is booked, after losing his rag once more, after a rash challenge. That has been prevalent recently. Was substituted against Nancy two weeks ago for fear of receiving a red card. Must calm down.
PSG still preaching safety here, as Sirigu is involved with a number of passes back all the way back. Verratti, the latest, as he is under pressure from Charbonnier.
Bedimo makes progress on the left, but Motta has from a deep position cut it out. Estrada and Menez tangle, with the hosts given a free-kick.
And already a foul, from Verratti, but Montpellier have started brightly as Maxwell is forced to stop Belhanda's progress down the wing.
The sides are back on the pitch, and we are underway in this second half! Montpellier get us started, attacking from left to right.
@LeFrenchGooner on Twitter: Montpellier is very good tonight. As when they play against big teams ... A shame they're not like that against weak teams - join the conversation, tweet me @mohammedali_93.
I'll be back for the second half in just under 15 minutes. Meanwhile, keep the conversation going on the chatbox to your right, or on Twitter to @mohammedali_93
PSG lead at the break, despite Mamadou Sakho's sending off after just 11 minutes. Nevertheless, Sirigu has kept Montpellier at bay, as Maxwell broke the deadlock with a fine lob just inside the area. Rene Girard's men have just not made that advantage count at all.
45' + 2'
HALF-TIME: Montpellier HSC 0-1 Paris Saint-Germain
45' + 1'
Montpellier have lacked the little spark they had after going behind. Rene Girard will be furious at how easily there were broken despite having the extra man, as Bocaly's cross is acrobatically cleared by Thiago Silva.
Into two added minutes at a slightly strange first-half at La Mosson.
Lavezzi has looked well, launching a number of passes towards Menez, and dropping deep to instigate chances. Pastore watches on with a glum look.
MENEZ! Fantastic save by Jourdren, Lavezzi picks out Menez after Congre not noticing the run. Firing low at Jourdren, the goalkeeper parries it away for a corner. Could've and should've been 2-0.
ESTRADA! From distance, and it's fired high and wide. Another look at that goal, Menez holds off Saihi, picks out Maxwell and he chips the goalie after one-look. Amazing.
CAMARA! Just over the bar! Should've worked Sirigu harder, after a fine cross from the left. Montpellier are behind, and need to make their chances count at the minute.
Ancelotti's side are on a roll here, a fantastic goal, but Montpellier need to issue a response. Verratti's lost the ball again...
Assist Jérémy Menez
GOAAL! MAXWELL! SUPERB GOAL! An amazing strike by Maxwell as Menez picks out the left-back who launches a first-time lob over Geoffrey Jourdren. The stadium is silent. 10-man PSG LEAD!
Pass by Cabella doesn't find Charbonnier, and Menez is on a break here. PSG in numbers...
Van der Wiel and Cabella give chase after a fantastic Belhanda through-ball, but the Dutchman wins that race. Montpellier seemingly content at just keeping the ball, and limiting PSG to counter-attacks.
A second first-half substitution as Jeunechamp is off for the number one right-back for Montpellier, as Garry Bocaly makes an entrance. Think that had something to do with the booking.
Yellow Card Cyril Jeunechamp
Yellow Card Thiago Motta
Handbags at the moment as Marco Verratti is fouled by Saihi. Verratti lashes out at Jeunechamp, as Thiago Motta gets in the thick of things. Motta and Jeunechamp are booked.
Cabella brings it away after Menez is stopped in is tracks. He picks out Jeunechamp, but Belhanda's long ball is poorly executed and cut out. After another phase of play, MHSC have a corner.
The visitors are struggling at the minute to string two attacks together. Thiago Silva is now captain on the field by the way, as he remonstrates with Maxwell. Lavezzi does look a little isolated at the moment.
Midway through the first half, it's Montpellier 0-0 Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1. The hosts are seeing much more of the ball, especially in the opposition half at the minute.
Montpellier have a corner. Belhanda plays it short, and the ball is returned to him. First-time cross, and it's fantastically punched by Sirigu, as Montpellier ready themselves for another run.
Belhanda threads a fantastic pass through 25 metres towards Charbonnier who attempts to dummy his way past Thiago Silva, but it instead runs free towards the goalkeeper.
Free-kick is Menez's and it fails to seriously trouble Jourdren, as Congre leads the charge. Jeunechamp's cross is well picked out of the air by Sirigu.
Very poor from Cabella and Saihi, who leave the ball for each-other, as Verratti ghosts in from hte middle and feed Matuidi. Laezzi comes in on his left, and is tripped by Jamel Saihi. Free-kick PSG.
The champions are battling as Matuidi sets through Menez on the wing. Trying to take Congre on, he slips on the ball, and the move end accordingly.
CAMARA! Fantastic move, and it's unlucky not to have paid off. A whipped in ball from the full-back Jeunechamp, picks out the diving Camara, who heads straight at Sirigu. Meanwhile, Lavezzi is tripped by Saihi.
Well, well. A very subdued look at the match now, after the intense opening. It's 11 v 10 now after Sakho's dismissal, and Montpellier are keeping possession, with their numerical advantage.
LAVEZZI! Oh, such a poor finish, but it's offside anyway. Menez breaks after the failed free-kick, and picks out Lavezzi who slides backwards, and finds his shot wide. Saved by the linesman though.
Free-kick to Montpellier, as Belhanda takes from distance. It's charged down by Thiago Motta, and Menez is on the break here, a ferocious break actually.
Sakho, if you remember was perhaps the reason why PSG lost their title last year, as he was sent off against Lille. In two weeks now, he has scored an own goal, and been sent off in two important clashes. Not exactly the best of times.
Well, Montpellier surely are favourites now against PSG. But they've seen less of the ball in the last few moments. Maxwell racing past Jeunechamp, but his ball in cannot find a team-mate.
And it's a tactical substitution here - Hoarau is sacrificed for the defensive quality of Alex. Hoarau trudges off, completely upset. What do you make of this situation? Tweet me @mohammedali_93.
And PSG are down to 10 as Estrada fires the free-kick over the bar. Ancelotti's gameplan has gone out the window here, and they are in very deep trouble, down to 10 after just 11 minutes.
Red Card Mamadou Sakho
RED CARD MAMADOU SAKHO! - What a shock by referee Clement Turpin as the defender tussles with Gaetan Charbonnier. Turpin doesn't whistle for ages, ad as Charbonnier shoots, play is brought back. The defender denied a goalscoring opportunity.
HOARAU! Headed down, and bounces into the goalkeeper's arms at the second attempt. It was a great delivery from the wing, and the striker's connection with the ball, with just a little more power could've been a goal there.
CAMARA! Oh, that was a brilliant free-kick delivery, and a little intervention by Thiago Silva gets Camara's bearings all incorrect, as he heads ferociously wide. That was a good chance wasted.
Free-kick awarded to Montpellier after yet another poor Verratti approach towards Belhanda. The midfielder is causing the Italian a few problems, and Montpellier have a brilliant free-kick opportunity chance here.
Wow! Marco Verratti is criminally caught in possession by Younes Belhanda who tricks his way past the midfielder. He could've gone down there, but stayed on his feet and lost the ball. Hoarau breaks, but the ball is poor.
Cabella spreads play towards Bedimo who picks out Charbonnier. The striker heads on towards the back post, but can't do much with that loose ball.
Bedimo departs for some medical attention after a crunching tackle by Thiago Motta. Montpellier starting on top at the moment.
Henri Bedimo goes down holding his calf, but Hoarau continues amid boos. El Kaoutari intercepts from Lavezzi, and gets the ball out of play for his team-mate.
And already a foul, as Montpellier are awarded a free-kick. The hosts are attacking, with Remy Cabella latching onto a fine cross, and launches a bicycle kick, over the bar.
KICK-OFF! PSG get us started, attacking from left to right, and in their white away kit. Let's go for a great game!
The teams are out in Montpellier, and we are moments away from kick-off. Montpellier are wearing a poppy-embroidered shirt in reference to Remembrance Sunday.
The atmosphere at La Mosson is building, ahead of tonight's main Ligue 1 clash. Montpellier lie two places ahead of the relegation zone, but a win could take them in the top ten! Crazy, huh? The referee tonight is Clement Turpin.
TEAM NEWS Zlatan Ibrahimovic is suspended, and so Ezequiel Lavezzi and Guillaume Hoarau are handed starts in what appears to be a 4-3-2-1 variant, with Javier Pastore benched. Thiago Motta makes his first start since mid-September after recovering from a back injury, as he replaces Clement Chantome, with Mamadou Sakho preferred to Alex. For Montpellier, Gaetan Charbonnier is preferred to Emanuel Herrera, with Marco Estrada returning from off-field problems to replace the injured Benjamin Stambouli. Defensive duo Cyril Jeunechamp and Abdelhamid El Kaoutari are in, the latter his first start in over a year, after Hilton fails a fitness test.
MONTPELLIER: Jourdren; Jeunechamp, Congre, El Kaoutari, Bedimo; Saihi, Estrada; Cabella, Belhanda, Camara; Charbonnier
PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN: Sirigu; Van der Wiel, Thiago Silva, Sakho, Maxwell; Thiago Motta, Verratti, Matuidi; Lavezzi, Hoarau, Ménez
CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS:
A few statistics to whet your appetite as we approach kick-off: PSG have managed to keep seven clean sheets in 11 league games. Montpellier are still searching for their first at home. The capital side have scored in each of their last 10 games against the champions. Rene Girard's men have dropped 10 points from winning positions this season so far - more than any other side. Nevertheless, Souleymane Camara has scored in all but one of his side's home league games this season.
Montpellier meanwhile are on a pretty woeful run of form, and their title defence will surely already be over if they lose tonight. The Stade de la Mosson was a fortress last year, but with the loss of Olivier Giroud, the club suffered UEFA Champions League elimination in midweek after a defeat to Olympiakos.
Ancelotti's men meanwhile have a point to prove after suffering a shock 2-1 defeat to Saint-Etienne last weekend. They looked surprisingly suspect at the back as Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw red after a kung-fu kick on Stephane Ruffier. Ibrahimovic will play no part tonight, and is in Sweden ahead of an international friendly against England.
Well, the two sides meet for the first time after a thoroughly exciting and nailbiting 2011-12 title race, where the unfancied hosts saw out their first ever championship ahead of Carlo Ancelotti's star-studded capital side. Tonight, Montpellier sit in a rather disappointing 16th place, just above the relegation zone, with PSG currently second, though a win would see them top.
First of all, let me introduce myself. I'm Mohammed Ali, and I'll be guiding you through today's events for the next two hours. Good evening! And welcome to Goal.com's LIVE! Ligue 1 text commentary! Massive game on the Mediterranean coast this evening, as holders Montpellier face the side they beat to the title last year, as Paris Saint-Germain roll into the Stade de la Mosson. Line-ups shortly.
