Had to be at his best to keep out Matavz and Maher in the first half before superb reaction save from Wijnaldum turned the match.
Made some crucial tackles as the last man in the first half before his game got much easier as PSV tired. Solid at the back.
Much quieter than normal going forward but was occupied by Depay for much of the game. Performed defensive responsibilities admirably.
M. De Sciglio
Got forward well on his return and helped keep Wijnaldum and Park quiet. Exposed by Jozefzoon's pace later on but a decent showing.
Kept Milan organized at the back with Matavz rarely in the game. Got the crucial flick on for Balotelli's goal.
Worked hard in midfield before substitution late on. Linked play well in the middle of the park.
Went close in the first half after taking the wrong option with his half-volley. Battle with Schaars caused some friction.
Two goals in an otherwise quiet display. The first goal was a superb finish before a late burst of pace set up his second.
N. de Jong
In front of the back four he performed the shield role perfectly. Broke up many attacks and though unseen for much of the game, put in an excellent showing.
S. El Shaarawy
Pace was a constant threat and on another night could have had a couple of goals. Again looked sharp after poor end to last season.
At the heart of everything good that Milan did, his goal was the cherry on the cake. Marked home European debut with volleyed finish and was the game's outstanding player.
Was quick off his line to neutralize danger but could have done better with both Boateng's goals. Still not a disastrous showing
Routinely beaten for pace by El Shaarawy while De Sciglio also gave him headaches. Slightly better going forward.
Stronger of the two central defenders but was still found lacking on occasions. Fluffed his lines when given the chance at other end.
Got forward well and almost got lucky with a cross that bounced off the crossbar. Final ball sometimes lacking.
Never really got to grips with Balotelli and was bullied by the striker. Lucky not to be booked for numerous fouls.
Missed PSV's best chance and was otherwise quiet. Odd piece of skill suggested he could offer more.
Sometimes more concerned with Montolivo dispute than the matter at hand. Also forced Abbiati into flying save.
Unlucky not to equalize with spectacular volley that Abbiati tipped over. Supported the strikers well.
A passenger throughout as he failed to cause any problems going forward. Very disappointing before substitution on the hour.
Kept Abate occupied but final product was regularly lacking. Plenty of potential for Cocu to work with.
A threat in the air but only had one chance to show for it. Failed to trouble Mexes enough.
Quiet after he was brought on for the final 20 minutes. Odd pass almost caught hosts out.
Failed to make any real impact on the game after replacing Depay.
Pace troubled De Sciglio more than Park but crosses weren't always to a PSV man. Sometimes overran dribbles when in behind.
