  • 90' + 4'
And that's that!! 2-2 the final. Two from Chicharito but Nigeria chips out a draw.
  • 90' + 2'
Salcido blows it over the top.
  • 90' + 2'
Mexico when a free kick, so there will be one more chance.
  • 90'
Jimenez wastes one over the top, and that might be the last of Mexico's chances here.
  • 89'
Now it's Mexico defending crosses, two of them to be exact.
  • 88'
Nigeria has to deal with another cross, but does so well enough. Not much time left in this match, but it's been a fun one.
  • 86'
    Yellow Card Emeka Eze
  • 86'
Both teams still playing hard late on, looking for a winner. That's not always the case in these matches, but right some hard tackles still flying in.
  • 85'
    SubstitutionS. Meza J. Aquino
  • 81'
    Yellow Card Kenneth Omeruo
  • 81'
Not on top of the score mind you, that's still 2-2. But Nigeria, for having a man advantage, has done a really poor job of holding the ball and taking the sting out of Mexico's attack.
  • 80'
Just over 10 minutes left and Mexico is on top of this game despite being down to 10 men.
  • 78'
Another slick move from Mexico and Nigeria is struggling to cope.
  • 74'
Meza with a great chance... Nigeria being pulled all apart right now, and Meza makes a mess of it.
  • 73'
    SubstitutionNnamdi Oduamadi Obinna Nwachukwu
  • 73'
    SubstitutionJavier Hernández R. Jiménez
  • 73'
Hernandez is subbed off. Another strong showing from Mexico's star.
  • 71'
Chicharito now fifth all time scorer for Mexico, not far from catching three and four.
  • 70'
    Assist C. Salcido
  • 70'
    Goal Javier Hernández
GOAL!!!! Mexico has tied it up and it's Chicharito again!! Salcido with the ball in... good break from Mexico and Hernandez finishes it off.
  • 69'
    SubstitutionJohn Ogochukwu Ogu Emeka Eze
  • 68'
So injuries slowing the match, along with a hard foul here and there. Nigeria with a man down at the moment.
  • 64'
    SubstitutionA. Guardado Á. Reyna
  • 64'
Odd stat. That red card for Barrera is the first for Mexico under Chepo.
  • 63'
And immediately down at the other end Nigeria bangs one off the post.
  • 63'
Flores has a look at goal with a header but it's taken easily.
  • 61'
This is not the same game as the first half. Much slower pace of play.
  • 57'
    Yellow Card Ogenyi Onazi
  • 56'
Better out of Mexico, a rare spell in charge of the ball leads to a shot that is blocked away.
  • 54'
Mexico defending very well, but the attacks are breaking down early.. and once again Reyes looks shaky. Beaten inside and that looked as much like a penalty as the penalty did.
  • 52'
    SubstitutionBrown Ideye Michael Babatunde
  • 50'
Slower start to the second half. Nigeria moving the ball around patiently, Mexico content to sit and absorb the pressure.
  • 47'
Guadado tries to spring Chicharito, who is back to playing up top alone.
  • 46'
    SubstitutionGerardo Torrado H. Herrera

    SubstitutionA. De Nigris G. Flores
  • 46'
    We're back at it.
  • Mexico making a couple changes at the break as well.
  • The teams are drifting out for the second half, almost ready to get back to the action.
  • 45' + 1'
Plenty of talking points in this first half, and Di Nigris nearly gave us another. Chance missed at the back post. Guardado with the type of service strikers dream of and it goes begging. Halftime has arrived, we'll be back for the second.
  • 41'
This game has been turned on its head. Mexico is far from out of it, but it's not looking good at the moment. A penalty and a deflected shot and Mexico finds itself behind.
  • 40'
    Own Goal Gerardo Torrado
And Nigeria is ahead!! A low ball in from the wing is hit first time, takes a deflection and the African side is out in front.
  • 39'
Di Nigris gets off a shot, and not a bad one, but nothing to show for it.
  • 38'
Mexico still attacking even down a man, and a dangerous free kick coming up for El Tri.
  • 34'
Hernandez called for a foul. Things not going well for Mexico at the moment. Nigeria with the man advantage is holding the ball really well.
  • 32'
Massive turn of events. Barrera being sent off was harsh, not shocking once the penalty is given though. Last man, called for a handball, seemed like a questionable penalty, but to send a man off as well makes it even worse.
  • 29'
    Penalty Goal Brown Ideye
And we're tied up! 1-1, Nigeria scores from the spot.
  • 27'
    Red Card P. Barrera
  • 27'
That was a nice little move from Nigeria... Barrera got caught as the last man, takes a shot to his midsection but hits it with his hand.. He's sent off for it and the penalty is given. That changes this match entirely.
  • 26'
PENALTY!! Nigeria will get a crack at equalizing from 12 yards.
  • 24'
That's been coming for a while. Mexico has owned the majority of this game and deserves the lead.
  • 21'
    Assist P. Barrera
  • 21'
    Goal Javier Hernández
And there it is!!! Goal.. Mexico up 1-0 and Chicharito nets this time, again it's Barrera with the ball in and Hernandez slots it home.
  • 19'
That was an interesting little sequence... Nigeria can't get the ball out of its own box. Chicharito with some great combination play to set it up. Mexico looking consistently dangerous.
  • 16'
Nigeria has the ball in Mexico's net, but it's ruled out for offside. Good call as well, but Mexico's defense hasn't looked steady.
  • 15'
Di Nigris again!! Headed effort this time, not enough power on it, but really Barrera is ripping this game up to this point. He's owned the right flank and that could easily have been a goal.
  • 13'
De Nigris... and that should have been better. Chicharito tried to lay it off to him for a first-time hit, and he just can't get the touch right. Good play again from Mexico though, another chance.
  • 12'
Reyes can be troubling at times. Twice already he's been under pressure and not dealt with it all that well.
  • 10'
CHICHARITO!!! No! It's back off the crossbar. What a chance for Mexico, and the Man United forward redirects well, but it came up just a bit and hit the crossbar. The Mexicans look like they're in the mood for goals tonight though. Very strong start.
  • 7'
A moment that could prove to be a trouble spot. A long clearance from Nigeria ends with Reyes conceding a throw deep in Mexico territory. Mexico deals with it well, but Nigeria's front three can really roll and look like they'll put plenty of pressure on Mexico's back line.
  • 5'
Guardado wastes a pass and from it Nigeria finally gets a few touches of the ball. Mexico moving it around nicely early on.
  • 3'
Corner is taken short after Chicharito has a talk with the ref about contact in the box, Nigeria gets the danger cleared.
  • 1'
Well worked early move down the right, quick exchange leads to Barrera getting in behind and winning a corner with a blocked cross.
  • 1'
    We're off and running.
  • Hernandez and De Nigris up top for Mexico tonight. Barrera is back on the right wing with Guardado on the left. Torrado and Zavala slide into the midfield, with Carlos Salcido moving back to left back. Reyes and Maza in the middle, Meza on the right and Corona in goal.
  • Just a few minutes out from game time here. This Nigeria team has some talent and will certainly challenge Mexico athletically. A big match for Mexico in terms of getting some rhythm heading into the qualifiers. Nigeria, with its size and speed of play, the African champion, should give El Tri a stern test.
