Greece delivered a shocking result to start out the Under-20 World Cup, as a late Dimitrios Kolovos strike earned the three points.

Dimitrios Kolovos scored in the 87th minute to give the Greece U-20 team a stunning 2-1 win over Mexico in both teams' first match of the U-20 World Cup in Turkey.

The Greeks got off to a fast start, and were up within 15 minutes. Dimitrios Diamantakos got past his defender on the left flank and sent in a cross that Andreas Bouchalakis steered home from five yards out.

Mexico struck back just before halftime, thanks to a stunning free kick from Jorge Espericueta. The 18-year-old Tigres man curled in a left-footed effort from 25 yards out, perfectly bending the ball into the near top corner.

The match appeared destined to end in a draw, but with just minutes remaining, Kolovos scored on a fine effort. The striker made space for himself at top of the box and finished with a fantastic strike into the roof of the net.

The result was a stunner for the Mexicans, who were considered one of the pre-tournament favorites. El Tri will look to bounce back on Tuesday against Paraguay.
