David de Gea
Not tested too often but made a wonderful save to deny Dzeko in the first half. Could do nothing about the City goals.
Poor performance from the central defender as he failed to read City's movement in the final third, most notably in the build up to the opener.
Some shaky moments, but the defender's aging legs were not exposed by City as much as some United fans might have feared.
Brilliant last-ditch tackle on Silva early and kept offering an attacking outlet on the right.
Uncomfortable at times against the pace of Navas. Got forward but final ball lacked precision.
Appeared to be struggling with injury early and certainly not his best display. Lacked mobility and sat too deep at the base of the midfield.
United's record signing found himself largely on the periphery of the game. Some nice touches but often played with his back to goal and was unable to turn and open up the City defense.
Dreadful performance from the Belgian. Poor on the ball, failed to track runners defensively and very fortunate to escape a red card for a nasty elbow on Zabaleta in the first half.
Out of position on the right for most of the first half and looked like he had no idea what to do. Replaced by Kagawa at the break.
Worked hard, particularly off the ball, but never really involved in the game and certainly didn't trouble the City defense.
The focal point of the United attack but looked frustrated as he failed to escape from the City defenders and never got in behind.
Little to do but alert when needed, especially to keep out Welbeck's close range flick in the second half.
A very impressive display from the Frenchman. Solid defensively as he stayed tight to his man and some very tidy link up play down the flank.
Typically strong defensive display from the right back and always comfortable on the ball.
Booked for a clumsy foul early on but completely dominant up against Rooney.
The much-criticized center back produced a fine display. Alert anticipation to read United attacks and fully committed when he attacked the ball.
A fine display as he drifted between the lines and linked up the City attack. Some brilliant passing exchanges with Silva, hit the post in the build up to Dzeko's first goal and delivered the corner for the second.
Not his most sparkling performance, but the Ivorian always seems to score on the big occasion and fired home the nail in the coffin from just inside the box late. Always made himself available and started City attacks.
Helped City to control the midfield with his tough tackling and efficient forward passing. Should have scored in the second half but headed over the bar.
The winger's pace was a useful threat on the counter attack and pinned back Evra. Might be a little disappointed with his end product.
What a player. Drifted around Old Trafford like he owned it and was at the heart of all of City's best attacking moves with his touch, technique and vision.
City's match winner as he scored both of his side's goals with poacher's finishes. Reacted quickest to score the first from close range and produced a fine finish on the volley for the second.
