C. Tevez 61'
Alex Fisher reports from the Etihad: "Well it was far from a classic but Manchester City maintain their impressive home record with a 1-0 victory that owes as much to Joe Hart and Mario Balotelli as it does to match winner Carlos Tevez. The introduction of Balotelli sparked City into life and Hart came to their rescue on numerous occasions to deny Michu. Swansea will feel a little hard done by, they were unable to cope with Manchester City's start to the second half but otherwise contained the champions well."
FULL-TIME: Manchester City 1-0 Swansea City
90' + 11'
Carloos Tevez does absolutely brilliantly to maintain pressure under pressure inside his own half. Clichy has a chance to pick out Balotelli with a cross moments later, but he just gifts the ball back to the Swans' keeper.
90' + 10'
Swansea can still snatch something here. Can they manufacture one final chance?
90' + 9'
Super work from Balotelli. Isolated up front he holds the ball up under pressure from two defenders and earns his side a corner out of nothing. Tevez has a shot from the resulting corner, but miscues it with his left peg.
90' + 6'
Hard to tell at the moment, but it looks like Lescott's introduction means five at the back for City, or three centre-backs with two wing-backs. Whatever the formation, a Swansea goal now and it will be forever analysed.
90' + 5'
90' + 5'
The Swans are on the attack again, this time down the left through Routledge. He squares up to Kolo Toure at the edge of the area, but the Ivorian substitute stands strong and earns his side another goal kick.
90' + 3'
Chance! Dyer and Rangel exchange some nice little passes to get Dyer into a cross position, but the little winger gets his feet in a mess and sends it out for a goal-kick.
90' + 1'
A massive 12 minutes to be added on, after the lengthy injuries to Vorm and Richards.
City have a chance to break with Aguero, Tevez and Balotelli all breaking forward, but Balotelli holds on to the ball a tad too long and then over hits his pass to Aguero.
Swansea are probing for an equaliser now and you can sense the anxiety inside the stadium. Rangel sends in a super cross across Hart's goal which Michu comes closest to diverting into the net.
Nervy moment! Nastasic almost sells Hart short with a back pass with Danny Graham busting a gut to make the interception.
Yellow Card Nathan Dyer
The game resumes after another lengthy delay. City go straight on to the front foot and earn a free-kick deep in the Swansea half.
Richards won't continue, he's being stretchered off the field. Kolo Toure is about to come on in his place.
Micah Richards has gone down in a real heap and is clutching his knee. He looks like he is in real pain and there is concern etched across the players surrounding him.
Now the hosts reply with some nice passing and interchange of their own but Yaya Toure's cross at the end of the move is over hit.
Some great passing from the Swans now in and around the opposition's area, just failing to find the killer ball to make the pressure count.
Great effort! The ball breaks to De Guzman on the edge of the area and he wraps his foot around the ball aiming for the top left corner and only narrowly missing the target.
Michu may have some support in attack now with the introduction of Danny Graham. That also means some more space in midfield for Mancini's men to exploit.
De Guzman picks floats a good pass across the field towards Michu, who brings the ball down a fires a low cross into the City area, but no Swansea player is able to support the lone forward.
Nastasic does well to intercept a cross field ball and breaks forward. He feeds Aguero, who picks out Nasri out wide but the Frenchman's cross, intended for Tevez is cut out by Williams.
Manchester City seem to be in complete control of the ball now, keeping possession in the opposition's half.
Michel Vorm's night is over, he'll be replaced by Gerhard Tremmel, for his first appearance of the season.
Vorm is still receiving treatment following Tevez's goal. The Dutchman appears to have injured his groin in his attempt to save the strike.
Assist Gael Clichy
Goal Carlos Tévez
Tevez picks up Clichy's pass and catches Vorm out with a long range effort. The Argentine shoots with little backlift and the ball swerves and dips into the bottom left corner of Vorm's goal. Excellent strike, struck beautifully by the Argentine.
GOAL!!! Manchester City 1-0 Swansea (Tevez)
What a chance! Michu gets between two defenders to meet Hernandez's cross with a diving header but Hart gets down well to save and Kompany clears!
Swansea are weathering the storm here, but they remain a constant threat on the break with the pace they have in wide areas.
Another good chance for the hosts. Tevez finds the advancing Richards with a superb ball but his cross doesn't pick out anyone in the box, he might have gone for goal himself.
Balotelli has a chance to shoot inside the area after being picked out by Nasri, but the Italian elects to go round the keeper, eventually taking the ball out too wide for a shot.
Chance! Samir Nasri gets to the byline and crosses from the right in search of Balotelli, but Flores gets a vital foot in just in time.
Tevez is up to it again. More terrier like work to get the crowd and his team-mates going. He wins his side a throw-in by snapping at Rangel's heels.
Much better start to the second half for the hosts. Aguero and Balotelli both cause more problems for Swansea in 60 seconds, than City managed in the entire first-half.
Swansea take the kick-off and the second-half is underway!
Alex Fisher reports from the Etihad: " It's goal less at half time here at the Etihad and there is plenty of frustration from the locals unhappy that Manchester City haven't got going yet. There is a distinct lack of urgency and Swansea should really be ahead but Michu was denied twice in as many minutes late in the half. European hangover for the champions?"
HALF-TIME: Manchester City 0-0 Swansea City
45' + 2'
The half-time whistle is met by boos from the crowd.
45' + 1'
Two minutes to be added on.
Late chance for Man City from a corner, but it's hit horribly shot from Aguero. Fair to say that pretty much sums up the first-half in terms of City's performance.
Anxious is the best way to describe the Man City support at the moment. Haven't seen anything from their big players. Yaya Toure for one, has been a peripheral figure.
Even better chance! Michu is threaded through by De Guzman, and he is away one-on-one, but he takes one touch too many and Joe Hart rushes out of his goal and spreads himself to make a vital save. Swansea fans behind the goal were just waiting to explode into celebration.
Yellow Card Micah Richards
Big chance! Routledge is advancing on goal before Richards hauls him down. Pablo Hernandez carries on and tries to pick out Michu in the box. Hart misses the cross but Kompany comes to the rescue.
Shot from Tevez is well saved and held by Vorm. The City striker latched on to a loose ball inside the box and let fire.
A dreadful clearance from Vorm almost falls to Tevez. Let off for the Swans, who go and put the ball in the back of the net through Michu at the other end, but play is pulled back for an offside.
Swansea engineer a good counter-attacking situation but De Guzman looses his footing at the vital moment as Hernandez sprinted up the pitch in support.
Nasri comes close to threading through Tevez, only a tight offside call denies the Argentinian a goal scoring chance.
Chico Flores makes an interception, and then continues his run all the way into the box where he is picked out by De Guzman but fails to bring the ball under his spell. Decent chance.
Richards gets in behind the Swansea defence for once, but his cross is over hit and goes all the way through to Clichy on the other flank. He can't find room for a cross and the ball goes back into midfield.
Manchester City are finding it very difficult to penetrate the two lines of Swansea players. The Swans are content sitting in their own half and waiting for the chance to break, through the pace of Hernandez and Routledge.
Michu is up on his feet now, albeit with an almighty bruise spread across his face. Ouch.
Chance! Michu comes inches away from heading in Hernandez's cross. Richards came across and cleared the danger. The Spaniard, rather unfortunately is still down and a stretcher has been called on to the field.
Tevez up to his old tricks. Chases down a lost cause, out muscles Cicho Flores and only narrowly misses Aguero with his cross.
Aguero controls Hart's goal kick with one remarkable touch but then mishits his ball out to Kolorav. Standard of passing has been well below what these two teams are capable of.
Yellow Card Ángel Rangel
That booking for Angel Rangel means he is out for the Capital One Cup match against Liverpool midweek.
Great tackle on Routledge from Richards, gets a big roar from the crowd. City go on the attack, but it eventually breaks down as Kolorav tries an intricate pass to Aguero.
Quarter of an hour gone and it has whizzed by without any real action.
De Guzman delivers a free-kick into a dangerous area from the left touchline and Joe Hart misses his punch. The linesman's flag goes up and City survive a slight scare.
Clichy chases the ball across the entire Swansea back line, left to right. The Frenchman singlehandedly trying to up the tempo here. Well appreciated from the Etihad crowd, bit of noise inside the ground now.
Very leisurely tempo to this game so far. Both sides have players very comfortable on the ball but most of the ball retention has been scrappy.
Aguero does superbly to turn his defender before finding Tevez in the box, but Chico Flores is there just in time to put the brakes on the Argentine just as he was about to shoot.
Richards has space to cross, but he fires his driven cross straight at Tevez, who inadvertently blocks it away from goal.
Routledge looks for De Guzman over the top, but the ball is over hit and Hart sweeps up comfortably.
Aguero then steals the ball of Yeung. Tentative start on the ball for both sides.
The hosts attack for the first time through Richards and Nasri down the right side. Swansea keep their shape and win the ball in midfield.
Swansea set an early precedent by pressing the Manchester City players in possession high up the field. Kolarov and Clichy already robbed of the ball here early on.
Manchester City take the kick-off and we are underway!
The two teams are just about to emerge from the tunnel, the Etihad is slowly filling to capacity and we are moments away from kick-off!
Swansea meanwhile, remain unchanged. Michu continues to lead the attack with Danny Graham and Nathan Dyer having to settle with a seat on the bench.
So it's three changes from the Champions League debacle in Amsterdam on Wednesday. James Milner is suspended after his red card against West Brom last week, while Jolean Lescott and Mario Balotelli drop to the bench. Matija Nastasic, Aleksandar Kolarov and Sergio Aguero all come in. Notably, Micah Richards starts in defence, despite his war of words with Mancini.
Swansea: Vorm; Rangel, Williams, Flores, Davies; Britton, Ki, De Guzman; Routledge, Michu, Hernandez. Subs: Tremmel, Dyer, Graham, Monk, Shechter, Tiendalli, Aguestien.
Manchester City: Hart; Richards, Kompany, Nastasic, Clichy; Nasri, Toure, Barry, Kolarov; Tevez, Aguero. Subs: Pantilimon, Lescott, Kolo Toure, Evans, Sinclair, Dzeko, Balotelli.
