  • Once again, it has been a pleasure to keep your company, make sure to come right back here tomorrow for Arsenal's visit to Anfield and Manchester United's trip to the south coast to face Southampton. Until then, goodbye!
  • Roberto Mancini's men survived a real scare today. QPR were abject in the first period allowing City to easily control the half and take a one goal lead into the break. The second half was a completely different affair, QPR had as many chances as the hosts but were caught by a late sucker punch from the impressive Tevez, who makes it 101 strikes in sky blue.
  • 90' + 6'
FULL TIME: Manchester City 3-1 QPR
  • 90' + 6'
Into the sixth minute of time added on.
  • 90' + 3'
    Assist Edin Dzeko
  • 90' + 3'
    Goal Carlos Tévez
Yaya Toure finds Dzeko unmarked inside the box and the Bosnian's wayward shot is luckily deflected in off Carlos Tevez. Game, set and match. City very fortunate there, QPR heads have well and truly dropped now.
  • 90' + 3'
GOAL!!! Manchester City 3-1 QPR (Tevez)
  • 90' + 1'
Oh sweet lord! QPR were nearly in on the break, Andy Johnson picked up the ball in midfield with Park running into space in behind the City defence, but the strikers ball is cut out.
  • 90'
    Substitution Samir Nasri Abdul Razak
  • 90'
First touch for Razak is an assured one, he links with Dzeko who goes down under the physical presence of, er... Shaun Wright-Phillips.
  • 90'
Samir Nasri comes off for Abdul Razak, not been at his very best the Frenchman, but certainly an improved performance to his display at Anfield last weekend.
  • 89'
Great hold up play from Dzeko, taking all the sting out of QPR's attack in the process.
  • 88'
City have retreated back into their half once again, the impetus is on QPR to break them down.
  • 86'
    Substitution Esteban Granero Djibril Cissé
  • 86'
Milner has had two good crossing opportunities to kill the game off since coming on and has wasted both. Abdul Razak is going to be hurled into the action any moment now.
  • 85'
    Yellow Card B. Zamora
  • 85'
End to end stuff at the Etihad. Keiran Dyer has a pop at goal before Granero and Tevez get into a slight scuffle, the ref lets play go on and City are on the attack again. Djibril Cisse replaces Granero as Hughes goes all out to steal a point.
  • 83'
Remember, I'm sure Mancini does, City have conceded twice in their last four. It's currently 2-1 with 8 minutes to go, is the script already written?
  • 82'
    Substitution David Silva James Milner
  • 82'
Funny how football works isn't it. Man City absolutely dominated 80 minutes of this match and are now camped in their own half with Mancini gesturing all over the shot. The small nimble frame of David Silva is to be replaced by the terrier known as James Milner.
  • 79'
City looking vulnerable again! A free-kick from the left misses everyone with, you guessed it, Ryan Nelsen coming closest to making contact at the back post. Mancini's face is priceless right about now.
  • 76'
Oh my word! Ryan Nelsen, of all people, has a glorious chance to level but unfortunately for him it required him to produce an athletic volley on the turn, not quite his forte. Onuoha did very well to win the first header and the goal really was gaping for the Kiwi to strike, warning sign for City.
  • 75'
    Substitution Pablo Zabaleta Kolo Toure
  • 74'
    Yellow Card Jack Rodwell
  • 73'
Rodwell very unlucky to receive a booking for a super tackle on Granero. Jack vs Esteban has been a right good tussle in midfield, lovely stuff.
  • 72'
    Substitution Alejandro Faurlin Kieron Dyer
  • 72'
Something you don't see very often, Keiran Dyer is taking to the field. I for one hope he can complete the rest of this match in good health.
  • 70'
Much better spectacle for the neutral now. Both sides going hammer and tong to secure the three points as far as City are concerned, and to salvage a point for the visitors.
  • 68'
    Substitution Anton Ferdinand Nedum Onuoha
  • 68'
Wasteful. David Silva bears down on the QPR defence and feeds in Dzeko, who is looking right across the line, but the Bosnian is inexplicably caught offside. He missed the chance anyway.
  • 65'
A moment to catch your breath after that flurry of goals. Ferdinand hasn't fully recovered from that knock he took earlier, Nedum Onuoha, formerly of City, comes on to replace him.
  • 61'
    Assist Carlos Tévez
  • 61'
    Goal Edin Dzeko
Tevez makes this one. Great stuff from the Argentine as he reacts quickly to Kolarov's pass, pushing the ball forward and quickly crossing on the half-volley for Dzeko to head it home from close range. City regain the lead!
  • 61'
GOAL!!! Manchester City 2-1 QPR (Edin Dzeko)
  • 59'
    Goal B. Zamora
Well, I did warn you City! Andy Johnson must take all the credit for this goal, he picked up the ball on the left and cut inside past a couple of defenders before firing a vicious shot at Joe Hart, who could only parry into the path of Zamora, who gladly nodded home to level the scores!
  • 59'
GOAL!!! Manchester City 1-1 QPR (Bobby Zamora)
  • 58'
City comfortable as you can be sitting on a one goal lead, that is not very comfortable at all. Battle hardened Zamora, sporting a Terry Butcher style bandage, rises highest to meet Fabio's cross, just reminding the home fans how quickly things can change.
  • 55'
Dzeko fires in a threatening shot from outside the box but the flag goes up on the far side, wouldn't have counted. Dzeko has not been at the races today, he could do with a goal.
  • 52'
What did I say about Zabaleta? The Argentine bombs down the right and is fed in by what can only be described as a perfect pass from David Silva before shaping a delicious curling right-footed shot which cannons off the woodwork!
  • 50'
Good news, he is on his feet and being checked out by the QPR doctors. He may not know what day it is but at least he is up. Not sure he can continue, mind.
  • 49'
Anton Ferdinand is down and it doesn't look too good. Stretcher is called over and the QPR man hasn't moved much since taking a right clattering from Kolorov. This doesn't look great.
  • 46'
Early chance for City as they catch QPR napping. Dzeko slips in Tevez inside the box and the Argentine lets fire from a fairly tight angle, Green gets his angles spot on to make the block.
  • 46'
Players stroll out for the second half. QPR made to wait as City players slowly filter out, Mancini reloads on his chewing gum and we are off!
  • Reminder, Goal.com's Danny Hart wants to hear from you! Let him know all your thoughts on today's Premier League action on the LIVE! blog via @GoalUK
  • One-nil to the champions at the break. Have to admit, expected a lot more from QPR, Mark Hughes may have a few choice words for his charges during half-time. City meanwhile have looked impressive thus far, the rhythm of passing which was missing in their first two outings is finally seeping back in, Mancini will want to keep this clean sheet though, believe me!
  • HALF TIME: Manchester City 1-0 QPR
  • 45'
    Yellow Card Aleksandar Kolarov
  • 44'
Great football by City once again, they are pinging their short passes off each other leaving QPR chasing shadows at times. If there is any criticism to be made, perhaps they are showing complacency and overplaying when they could just stick it in the net.
  • 42'
Granero takes a corner from the left which is well met by Joe Hart, the ball finds its way back to the Spaniard but he gets his second attempt all wrong, prompting cheers from the City fans.
  • 40'
Tempo of the game has dropped dramatically, quite a sleepy atmosphere inside the ground now.
  • 38'
More good play from City. Nasri and David Silva with some fine interchange and passing down the left-flank but Silva couldn't clear the first man with his cross from the byline.
  • 37'
On second viewing, I take that back. Not a handball at all. Referee 1-0 Husmukh Kerai.
  • 36'
Shouts for handball, and this time City may have a case. Rodwell bursts through the midfield and attempts to lift the ball to Dzeko at the backpost, but Ferdinand intervenes.
  • 34'
Tremendous block by Fabio! City broke from that Granero free-kick with Kolorav. He picked out Silva on the right in acres of space, but the Spain international took a moment too long to get his shot away allowing Fabio to come hurtling in with a fine block.
  • 32'
QPR finally seeing some of the ball. Park does some fine running down the left-flank and wins a free-kick. Granero sends in the cross, decent delivery but superbly dealt with by Hart.
  • 29'
Zabaleta has been very impressive so far, funny that, a day after a certain Brazilian right-back signs for the club. To be fair to the Argentine, he has proven to be a key player for Mancini for a while now.
  • 26'
Good save! Nasri flicks the ball with the outside of his boot into the path of David Silva, the little Spaniard dances past a challenge and digs out a shot from under his feet but Green reacts well to send it out for a corner.
  • 24'
Man City seemed to have learnt their lesson. After scoring, they haven't taken their foot off the gas and despite only being in the 25th minute, QPR are hanging on. All ten outfield players are pinned in their own half.
  • 21'
Some great football between Zabaleta, Tevez and Silva. The three combine and between themselves work it into the box with Zabaleta playing his final pass into Tevez just behind the pesky Argentine. Would have been a fine goal.
  • 16'
    Goal Yaya Touré
Can't say it wasn't coming. David Silva's corner from the right-hand side is only cleared as far as Yaya Toure, and the midfield behemoth sweeps home from just inside the area on the half volley. One-nil City!
  • 15'
GOAL!!! Manchester City 1-0 QPR (Yaya Toure)
  • 14'
That's one way to do it. Jack Rodwell forgets what side he's on for a moment, and in an attempt to clear inadvertently strikes an awkward loopy effort at Joe Hart who has to tip it over his crossbar for the corner. Mancini gives him one of his looks.
  • 12'
Getting a bit weird this. Another corner, another right-footed delivery, another Dzeko header. This time the big man gets his header spot on but it's cleared off the goal line. City knocking on the door and QPR finding it difficult to get out of their half.
  • 9'
Another corner, this time from the right. Silva plays it short to Tevez, whose cross is nodded back across the area by Yaya Toure, but Green does well to read it and collect it.
  • 7'
Shouts for handball as Zabaleta's cross strikes Faurlin inside the area, not much in that to be fair to QPR. Manchester City have started brightly.
  • 5'
Chance! Carbon copy of Nasri's earlier corner, this time Green doesn't come for it and Edin Dzeko flings himself at the ball. The Bosnian makes decent contact but has no control over his header, decent chance missed.
  • 2'
Early corner for the hosts, taken by Samir Nasri from the left-hand side, well punched by Robert Green. If ever a goalkeeper needed a solid game, it's Green today.
  • 1'
Manchester City kick-off and we are underway!
  • The new City boys, Javi Garcia, Scott Sinclair, Maicon and Richard Wright are now being shown off to the home crowd.
  • The teams are on their way out and we are moments away from kick-off.
  • The 'Special One' or the 'Only One', whatever you want to call him, Jose Mourinho is at the Etihad this evening. The Real Madrid boss is on a scouting mission ahead of the two clubs' Champions League Group D clashes, tasty one that isn't it?
  • As always, if you have anything you want to get off your chest, we here at Goal.com want to know about it. You can instantly get in touch via Twitter @GoalUK
  • Anyone got any money on another 3-2? Well, City have conceded twice in every game they've played since that final day victory, so it could be on the cards.
  • Now, any mention of this fixture evokes memories of THAT day, and THAT Sergio Aguero goal that turned the English football upside down and blew the roof off the Etihad.
  • £6.2m acquisition Scott Sinclair is the only summer signing to be on Roberto Mancini's team sheet for today's game, and he has to be content with a seat on the bench.
  • Esteban Granero, formerly of Real Madrid of course, makes his debut for QPR after switching the Santiago Bernabeu for Loftus Road on deadline day.
  • The big news as far as the defending champions are concerned is Edin Dzeko coming in for Mario Balotelli up top alongside Carlos Tevez, who is set to undergo eye surgery early next week.
  • QPR: Green; Bosingwa, Nelsen, Ferdinand, Fabio; Wright-Phillips, Granero, Faurlin, Park; Zamora, Johnson. Subs: Murphy, Derry, Cisse, Mackie, Onuoha, Dyer, Hoilett.
  • Manchester City: Hart; Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Kolarov; Yaya Toure, Rodwell; Silva, Tevez, Nasri; Dzeko. Subs: Pantilimon, Clichy, Kolo Toure, Milner, Sinclair, Razak, Balotelli.
  • Right, team news is coming up shortly...
