  • Good match. Liverpool go up, concede twice, then answer to level. Perfect derby, point for each side.
  • 90' + 4'
Both teams look more and more comfortable with the draw, which now seems almost assured to be the result. Maybe one last push from Everton, and... yes, it's all over.
  • 90'
    Yellow Card Dirk Kuyt
  • 89'
Nervy moments for Liverpool but the danger ends up being cleared, unjustly, when Liverpool were given a goalkick wrongly.
  • 88'
Corner to Everton. The last one led to a goal.
  • 87'
Not much time left to go. If you had to pick a winner at this point it's Liverpool who are controlling most of the play, but Everton have not given up searching for a winner either.
  • 81'
    Substitution Victor Anichebe Diniyar Bilyaletdinov
  • 81'
    Substitution Raúl Meireles Jonjo Shelvey
  • 81'
This has been a very exciting second half. Both teams throwing on fresh players for the closing run.
  • 77'
    Substitution Leon Osman Jack Rodwell
  • 77'
It's hard not to feel like Torres is going to score. The guy is still getting off shots every time he touches the ball.
  • 73'
    Substitution Jermaine Beckford James Vaughan
  • 72'
Honestly, Howard had a brilliant match going until giving up the penalty. Unfortunately for goalkeepers, that one mistake is what you're judged on.
  • 68'
    Assist Maxi Rodríguez
  • 68'
    Penalty Goal Dirk Kuyt
  • 68'
And it's 2-2. Howard's fault there really. Keeper's have to be brave, but they have to be in control. Can't give up penalties like that.
  • 66'
Liverpool should be back in it now. Tim Howard absolutely just came through Maxi's back and the penalty is given.
  • 63'
    Yellow Card Fernando Torres
  • 59'
This is turning into a great match. Liverpool have forced a couple of saves out of Howard and are still pushing the pace while Everton look hungry for number three.
  • 53'
    Yellow Card Pepe Reina
  • 52'
    Assist Leon Osman
  • 52'
    Goal Jermaine Beckford
  • 52'
What a start to the second half from Everton. A second goal, this one to Beckford. A brilliant finish from the former Leeds star.
  • 47'
That didn't take long. Before we're even really back in action Everton are level. 1-1. The goal came from some poor Liverpool marking on the back post, same old story. Disappointing start for Pool after such a good first half.
  • 46'
    Assist Mikel Arteta
  • 46'
    Goal Sylvain Distin
  • 46'
    Substitution Daniel Agger Sotirios Kyrgiakos
  • 45'
Sloppy! The pass from Fellaini sets Maxi for a shot from the top of the 18. Right at Howard, hard and low. Tim makes the save but so sloppy, really should have been punished.
  • 42'
Nothing comes of the break, Liverpool heads the other way. Great ball from Kuyt to Meireles forces Howard into another save.
  • 41'
Torres again. Two or three times he's looked to run at the defense, him on them, and every time something positive came out of it. This time a corner, Everton clears and breaks the other way.
  • 38'
Liverpool do look more likely to score though. Torres has been a handful and Kuyt is showing his normal workrate, so there is plenty of action in front of Howard.
  • 35'
Better from both teams. The game is slowing a bit, finding a rhythm, but both sides are playing some attractive footy.
  • 31'
Maxi nearly made it two. Everton better settle it down quickly. Pool look in the mood to make this one ugly.
  • 29'
    Goal Raúl Meireles
  • 29'
    Assist Dirk Kuyt
  • 29'
First goal of the game is in Liverpool's favor. To Howard's credit, he made the first two saves, very good saves both of them, but the third from Raul Meireles was too much for him to deal with.
  • 25'
Beckford a step late again, but Torres' post hit seems to have woken the Toffees up.
  • 20'
This really does look like a derby. Plenty of physical play, and now Everton have a corner. Good spell of pressure from Moyes' side. Odd little tid bit, Phil Dowd just had to run over to "make sure" the ball was correctly set for the corner. It really is a kids game sometimes.
  • 17'
Not sure how to explain it, but let's just say Fernando Torres just looked a bit like Fernando Torres, and Tim Howard's back post is the only reason the match is level.
  • 16'
Pretty good stuff here in the opening quarter of an hour. Not much in front of goal though. Mostly, it's the early feeling out process, but Fernando Torres nearly made it 1-0 to the home side.
  • 11'
Nice rush forward from Liverpool. First corner of the day for Pool, ends a minute or so in with Torres blasting one over the top.
  • 6'
No Steven Gerrard for Liverpool today. I'm sure Tim Howard would, in an honest moment, tell you he's very happy about that.
  • 4'
Bad ball movement from Liverpool, poor giveaway hands Beckford a crack at goal, but as has been the case this season, he's well off target.
  • 2'
Strong shouts there from Liverpool for a foul just on the edge of the box, but nothing comes of it. Everton hammer off a shot on the other end, Seamus Coleman missed it badly, but real end to end stuff early on.
  • 1'
And we're off, for the 250th time in this derby match, and Fernando Torres is already having a crack at goal just 10 seconds in.
  • Almost ready to go in the Americans Abroad Game of the Week. A special occasion for players in a derby of this magnitude, especially when both sides are level on points. Tim Howard is our American in the net for Everton, but the magnitude of the match is what makes it the game of the week.
