The Galaxy made their breakthrough in the second half, and appear to be rounding into form as the summer rolls on.The LA Galaxy scored a 2-0 home win over FC Dallas Sunday night, as Robbie Keane provided two assists to move the team to within four points of Western Conference leader Real Salt Lake.
LA started the match strong, but couldn't find a way past FC Dallas goalkeeper Raul Fernandez in the first half. The Peruvian goalkeeper made a string of good saves, thwarting Robbie Rogers and Gyasi Zardes among others.
The home side made the breakthrough in the 65th minute though. Keane got away from Stephen Keel in the box before lofting a perfect ball for Marcelo Sarvas to head home at the back post.
The Galaxy sealed the win with 10 minutes to play. Keane played Rogers down a wide open left side of the FC Dallas defense, and he squared back for Hector Jimenez to strike home first-time from the penalty spot.
