F. Quagliarella 64', 68'
Two second half goals from Quagliarella were enough to give the Bianconeri the three points against a really quite poor Chievo side. I've been Alex Mott, you've been superb. Thanks.
90' + 3'
And that's it. The referee blows for full time, and the scoreline here at Juventus Arena is Juventus 2-0 Chievo.
90' + 2'
Yellow Card Davide Moscardelli
90' + 2'
Moscardelli gets the first yellow card of the night for a silly challenge on Lucio. Silly being the operative word.
We'll have three minutes of added time here.
Unlucky Vidal. The Chile international powers forward, and then tries to lay in Vucinic on goal. The pass though, is slightly overhit, and Sorrentino comes off his line quickly to claim the ball.
Vucinic has it now on the edge of the area. The former Roma man takes one touch to his right, and fires an effort at goal. It's straight at Sorrentino though, who punches it away.
Pass, pass, pass. Pass. Pass, pass, pass. Pass: pass. Pass; pass. Pass, pass, pass, pass, pass. Pass. Chievo are just chasing shadows here.
BENDTNER! Has a shot blocked from the edge of the area.
Giaccherini tries his hand with an effort...and this one, from further out, is even worse.
Moscardelli strikes one from 30 yards for Chievo, and it's still rising now. Terrible effort.
Vidal comes charging forward now. 25 yards from goal, he picks out Vucinic, who flicks it on to Quagliarella inside the area. The man looking for his hat-trick though, takes too heavy a touch, and loses the opportunity to get a shot away.
Vucinic and Vidal exchange passes on the edge of the area, but Cesar reads it, and pokes the ball away from danger.
Moscardelli chases after a long ball from Vacek. He's not getting there, but Chiellini and Buffon get in each others way, and both end up hitting the turf. The defender though, manages to just get enough on the ball to take it away from the 32-year-old striker, and avert any danger.
Assist Kwadwo Asamoah
Goal Fabio Quagliarella
GOOAALL! And that is a wonderful finish. Asamoah, on the left, plays a ball into Quagliarella on the edge of the area. The former Napoli man, touches it past Cesar, before opening up his body and sliding it into the bottom right-hand corner. 2-0.
Jokic tries to get things going again for Chievo. Knocking a ball down the right, it goes towards Cruzado, but Bonucci is there to head away for a throw in.
Assist Emanuele Giaccherini
Goal Fabio Quagliarella
GOOAAALLL!!! And from another corner, Quagliarella was there to fire an acrobatic effort from 12 yards out, into the back of the net. Sorrentino did get a hand to it, but it wasn't enough to keep it from crossing the line. 1-0.
OH MY WORD! That's one of the best saves you're ever likely to see! A corner from the left was whipped in by Vucinic towards Chiellini. The towering centre-back was four yards out, headed it down, but Sorrentino was there to palm the ball away.
I think we're finally getting some idea as to how much the Champions League will affect Juventus' bid to retain the Scudetto. What do you reckon? Are the Bianconeri too strong, or will Europe get the better of them? Tweet me @alexjmott.
Someone give @Blazing_Gun_49 a medal: "I can see flying donkeys tiring now, soon the old lady will be riding em." Marvellous stuff.
The corner comes in from the left, where Sorrentino comes out to collect it. The keeper though, misses the ball, and watches as it goes out, luckily, for a goal kick on the far side.
Asamoah bombs down the let now. He gets to the byline and smashes it across goal, where Dainello is there to knock it behind for a corner.
HOW HAVE JUVE NOT SCORED? Vucinic, on the edge of the area, flicked the ball through to Giaccherini. The former Cesena man half-hit it across goal, where Quagliarella was on his heels, and couldn't knock it into the empty net. Poor. Really, really poor.
OH! Real chance for Isla. On the right-hand side of the area, he robbed Vacek of the ball, before firing a shot at goal. The effort though, struck the side netting instead of going across goal, much to Vucinic's dismay.
Pogba tries to find Isla on the right-hand side, but his pass goes out of play for a throw in. And with that, Vidal stops warming up and takes his bib off.
@sataaronline with some personnel advice for Carrera: "they chose the wrong game to drop Giovinco. It's against these stubborn teams that we need him."
Chievo have come flying out of the blocks here, and get a corner off of Chiellini. Marco Rigoni takes it, but it's cleared at the near post by Marchisio.
Here we go then. We're back, and it's Juventus who get us underway, going from right-to-left.
"they should try out bendtner...he has good heading instnicts and will make use of good service from midfield." I can only assume you're being sarcastic @drhidayath?
@bungrudi though, is a bit more optimistic: "this is a great alternative formation for juve, very useful against weak teams. Sooner or later they'll score."
An enormously sensible point from @CorioLouis: "Same problems for Juve as last season, midfielders getting too many of the clear cut chances whilst forwards have only scraps."
In truth, it's been all Juventus. Quagliarella and Marchisio have had good chances to open the scoring, whilst Vucinic did but was given offside. I'll be back in 15 minutes for the second half, but in the meantime, tweet me @alexjmott with your thoughts and questions.
45' + 4'
And that's it. The referee finally blows his half time whistle, and the scoreline here at Juventus Arena is Juventus 0-0 Chievo.
45' + 2'
Chievo come forward for the first time since, well, the first minute. And they win a corner. Marco Rigoni whips it in from the left-hand side, but it's a poor one, and Lucio clears with a header.
For some reason, we're having four minutes of injury time here.
OFFF! Great effort from Marchisio. Asamoah, on the edge of the area, squared it to the Italy midfielder, who lashed it first time at goal. Sorrentino could only watch, but luckily for him, the ball flew past the left-hand post.
Vucinic is down clutching his knee, inside the centre circle. Treatment's coming, but he looks okay.
OH! Great chance for Giaccherini. Quagliarella, on the edge of the area, chips a pass into the path of the former Cesena man. The little midfielder takes it first time, but his effort goes straight over the bar with the goal gaping.
Quagliarella comes charging down the left-hand side with the ball, but his touch lets him down, and it goes out for a throw in - with the former Udinese man looking back and staring at the turf.
Cesar looks to have clipped Quagliarella from behind on the edge of the area, but the referee waves the forward to his feet, much to the astonishment of everyone inside the ground.
Despite their bright start, Chievo are offering absolutely nothing going forward now. In fact, I think I've seen Dainello and Cesar pitching tents outside the 18 yard box.
Asamoah strikes one now from distance, but again Sorrentino saves well down to his left.
Pogba plays his first Pirlo-esque pass of the night. Spotting the run of Isla, the French midfielder sprayed a ball out to the right-hand side, but the former Udinese wing-back couldn't quite get a good enough touch to whip a cross in.
OH. WHAT A SAVE! A cross from Asamoah on the left, went into the six yard box, where Giaccherini was there to poke home. Sorrentino though, got down expertly well, and palmed the ball away.
@GuerillaBacon has a prediction for us: "My wager today would be a comfortable 3-1 victory for Juve." From what I've seen so far, I hope you didn't have too much money on it.
GOOAA....NO! A cross from Quagliarella went to the far post, where Isla volleyed the ball back into the middle for Vucinic to tap home. Unfortunately for the home fans, the Montenegrin was in an offside position.
Bonucci tries a speculative effort from 35 yards, but as you'd expect, the shot goes about a mile wide.
Giaccherini gets robbed of the ball inside the centre circle, and immediately gives away a foul on Hetemaj.
Vucinic has it now, just inside the right-hand touchline. He tries to release Isla on the outside, but Dainelli is there to knock the ball back upfield and a throw in.
The next one's played short, and out towards the edge of the area and Marchisio. The Italian midfielder strikes it first time, but Sorrentino saves easily.
Juve have a corner. It's whipped in by Quagliarella on the left-hand side, in towards the near post and Bonucci. Frey's there first though, and knocks it behind for another corner.
And with that clearance, Juve break. Vucinic, with the ball on the halfway line, gets the ball and just keeps going. And going. And going. The Montenegrin gets to the edge of the area and tries a cute chip over Sorrentino, but it's poor and goes wide of the right-hand post.
First corner of the game, and it goes to Chievo. Whipped in from the right, it goes towards the far post and Luca Rigoni. His header though, is a poor one, and Juventus clear.
Oh, that's poor from Quagliarella. On the edge of the area, the one-time Napoli man has an option to play Isla in down the right, or turn and shoot through a forest of legs. He chooses the latter, and hangs his head in shame.
Lucio plays a ball over the top for Quagliarella, but the Italy international is adjudged to be offside.
@djpofka has a prediction for us: "I'm expecting the bianconeri to score 3 this evening." And don't forget, if you have any thoughts on tonight's game, get following and tweeting me @alexjmott.
OHHH! Good save Sorrentino. Giaccherini released Quagliarella on the left-hand side of the area, and the former Udinese man unleashed a rasping effort at goal, first time. The keeper got down well though, and pushed the ball away to his left.
More nice link up play from Vucinic. Dropping deep, the former Roma man flicks a pass round the corner to Asamoah. The Ghanian though, can't return the favour, and Frey cleans up.
Vucinic does well there. The Montenegrin gets round L. Rigoni, before slipping in Quagliarella. Unfortunately though, the pass is overhit, and Sorrentino comes off his line to claim the ball.
First chance for Di Carlo's side, and it's Hetemaj with the effort. On the edge of the area, the Finland international side-steps Bonucci, and gets a shot away. Buffon is more than equal to it though, and saves well.
Chievo come forward now with Vacek. The Czech midfielder bombs down the right, but Giaccherini gets back, and puts in a great challenge to dispossess the 25-year-old.
And already, Juve have the ball. It's pumped long towards Quagliarella, but Cesar is there, and heads back to Sorrentino in goal.
Here we go then. We're finally underway here at Juventus Arena, and it's Chievo who kick us off, going from right-to-left.
15 minutes until kick off here in Turin, and the sell-out crowd at Juventus Arena are definitely up for this one - the atmosphere is absolutely electric.
As always, I want to hear your thoughts and predictions for tonight's game - tweet me @alexjmott.
Chievo (4-4-2): Sorrentino; Frey, Dainelli, Cesar, Jokic; Vacek, L. Rigoni, Hetemaj, Thereau; M. Rigoni, Pellissier.
Juventus (3-5-2): Buffon; Lucio, Bonucci, Chiellini; Isla, Marchisio, Pogba, Asamoah, Giaccherini; Vucinic, Quagliarella.
TEAM NEWS: Pogba makes his full debut for Juventus, replacing Andrea Pirlo in the middle of a five-man midfield. Mauricio Isla, Lucio and Fabio Quagliarella also start.
The Old Lady though, go into this game off the back of a quite unbelievable 42-match unbeaten run in Serie A. The Flying Donkeys though, have won just once this season - that coming in a 2-0 victory over Bologna on the opening day of the campaign.
Juventus - Chievo: a guaranteed home win you say? Well don't be too hasty. If recent history is anything to go by, this could be a tricky tie for the Bianconeri. In the last four games between these two, every single one has ended in a draw. And you have to go back to 2009 for the last Juve win, as Vincenzo Iaquinta scored the winner in a 1-0 victory.
Good evening everyone, and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE, play-by-play coverage of Juventus vs Cheivo from Juventus Arena. I'm Alex Mott, and I'll be your commentator for this mouth-watering Serie A clash.
