Added time in San Pedro Sula. The halftime whistle can't coe fast enough.
  • 39'
The game has slowed to a snail's pace.

And just as I write that... goal Honduras. 3-0 and that's all she wrote. This is embarrassing.
  • 28'
More pressure on Canada as the Hondurans are supremely comfortable right now. This could get ugly if the Canadians don't reclaim their cool.
  • 26'
Hutchinson looks like the only Canadian on the field with any ideas on how to move the ball forward. Unfortunately, his teammates are woefully out of sync with him.
  • 22'
Canada is rueing those two missed sitters by Ricketts right now. Honduras looks in complete control as the Canadians are understandably in shambles.
  • 18'
GOAL!! Honduras scores again after De Guzman gets stripped on what appeared to be a foul at midfield. No matter, as the Hondurans are unmarked on goal and it's now a huge mountain to climb.
  • 17'
    Goal J. Bengtson
  • 16'
Honduras gets a bit of a half chance after an apparently handball, but the shot is harmlessly over Hirschfeld.
  • 12'
Canada is pressing and causing turnovers now, but their shots leave much to be desired.
  • 11'
ANOTHER CLOSE CALL FOR CANADA. Hutchinson hits the post and Ricketts can't finish the rebound. Unreal.
  • 10'
Honduras looking comfortable in possession now. The goal has given the home side confidence.
  • 7'
    Assist Carlo Costly
  • 7'
    Goal J. Bengtson
  • 7'
GOAL!! Honduras pushes, and Bengston chips Hirscchfeld after breaking in alone on goal. Sloppy, sloppy stuff.
  • 5'
After a brief delay due to injury to the Honduran 'keeper, we're back in action.
  • 2'
CLOSE CALL!! Canada nearly gets on the board already after Ricketts gets the ball in front of the goal on a turnover, but he couldn't get the ball out of his feet in time.
  • 1'
    And we're off!
  • Anthems are done. Here we go...
  • Just over 5 minutes to go!
  • With Occean back in Germany, Canada coach Stephen Hart has called in 19-year-old striker Lucas Cavallini from Uruguay's Juventud de Las Piedras. He's currently leading the side in scoring with 3 goals in 5 appearances. If Canada needs a goal late, we may see the youngester make his World Cup qualifying debut.
  • The stadium is filled to the brim, with 41,000 Hondurans who had mostly been inside the building since two hours prior to kickoff. Like in Panama, the atmosphere is electric and the sounds of air horns is overpowering.
  • Jazic has fallen ill, and Occean was red-carded in Toronto against Cuba on Friday night.
  • For Canada, there will be two changes as Ante Jazic and Olivier Occean make way for Mike Klukowski and Nik Ledgerwood.
  • For Honduras, it's a pretty similar lineup to the one that earned a scoreless draw in Panama last week.
  • Hirschfeld; Edgar, Hainault, McKenna, Klukowski; Ledgerwood, De Guzman; Ricketts, Hutchinson, Johnson; Jackson
  • Honduras starting XI: Escober, Peralta, Bernardez, Figueroa, Izaguirre, Claros, Garrido, Garcia, Martinez, Bengtson, Costly
  • The starting lineups have been announced, so let's take a look...
  • Today's match is arguably the biggest for Canada since the team won the Gold Cup back in 2000. The Canadians haven't been to the final round of qualification since 1997, and a win or draw this afternoon would end that streak.
  • Welcome to's live commentary of Honduras vs. Canada. I'm Rudi Schuller (@RudiSchuller) and I'll be providing you with all the action as it happens in San Pedro Sula.
