One final corner for Hannover.... and it's cleared away. Game over, there's the final whistle and we're still waiting on a goal. Not to be for Hannover today but a hard earned point will be enough o keep them in the driver's seat for a Champions League spot.
  • 90' + 2'
Another shout for a penalty from Hamburg for a hand ball, good no-call, but this ref is having a tough night.
  • 90'
Only two minutes added on. Not enough if you ask me.
  • 88'
Both keepers being called into action frequently now. Lots of contact all over the field. You get the feeling there's still a winner in this match somewhere.
  • 86'
A long time dead ball for an injury, but when the game resumed the action picked back up with chances at both ends. Hamburg had a penalty claim denied and Hannover forced a save at the other end.

Ugly stuff. Two terrible dives from Hamburg players, both trying to draw cards. Both drew card for Hannover. One was a foul, the other was head to head talking and the Hamburg player just went down as though he'd been butted. Classless.
  • 77'
Van Niestelrooy off the crossbar from his head!!
  • 76'
Elia, back the other way, he's in on goal.... No again. Too soft with his chip of the keeper and the defense recovers. This match is opening up. Could be a thrilling conclusion.
  • 74'
KONAN!!!!! Just wide. Just, just, wide. Inches from a massive goal.
  • 72'
Wow, the game got stretched out there for a minute. Real up and down action but nothing that could be called a chance really.
  • 69'
    Yellow CardLars Stindl
  • 68'
Konan ends up with a chance there on a rare forward move from Hannover. Cross in from the left and the striker flashed his header just wide of the post.
  • 66'
Minute by minute you can see Hannover getting pushed back deeper and deeper. Hamburg is piling on the pressure right now. Big game for Hamburg as well as it sits six points back of a Europa League spot.

Petric is turning into a real menace. Another chance there. It doesn't look good for Hannover right now, and Hamburg just brought on another option to get forward.
  • 55'
Petric tried something tricky there with a chip at the back post. Hit it high, but a great thought. Guy has tons of quality, just hasn't been on i today.
  • 51'
Hannover actually went close right there. A nice break in from the left and the shot goes wide of the post, but not by much.
  • 49'
This half starts out much the way the first half played out, with hamburg on the ball and controlling the pace. Hannover, always comfortable to sit back a bit and hit on the break with Konan's pace and a midfield full of lethal passers, should not be too cautious. Hamburg can break a defense down, and Hannover will have to attack to keep that from happening.
  • 46'
Back in action. This game needs a goal and Hannover needs a win to push its Champions League hopes even further. This is the last huge test on the schedule, and with Bayern taking on Bayer the chance to widen the gap is there to be had.
  • Good half all around. Hamburg took control of most of the action, but Hannover hung tough and carved out a few chances. Cherundolo's boys will need better in the second half if the hope to earn a win here.
  • 45'
Still level as the half draws near the end. Konan just had a half chance on the break, easily saved, and Hannover pushed another shot over the top moments later. Almost no stoppage time, ref blows for the break.
  • 42'
Lot of fouls in the last few minutes going both ways. Hannover with a decent little spell and the first hit at goal in a while. It was weak, but it was on target.
  • 37'
Hannover's midfield is losing every battle right now. Hamburg looks comfortable in its control of the game.
  • 32'
Hamburg still pressing, how Hannover is still level is beyond me. Hamburg looks the better team right now and has piled up the chances.
  • 30'
Hannover finally got out of the its own end, earned a freekick down the other side of the pitch, and nearly gave up a break to Elia coming back the other way.
  • 27'
Hamburg is clearly on the front foot right now. Hannover can't clear its lines right now. Real danger of Hamburg finding the net sometime soon. The goal is being peppered with shots.
  • 23'
A very good start to the match now. Pace is high, both teams going in hard. The type of match you would expect from these two teams this year. Elia has been the standout to this point and Hamburg are trying to force the ball to him regularly.
  • 16'
Eli is giving Cherundolo fits. He just drew another foul on the American and it was nearly costly as Ruud Van Nistelrooy got on the end of the freekick, but put his header right at the keeper.
  • 15'
Hannover really should be in front. A great move forward, but to Hamburg's credit, the defense got back in time to clear off the line and keep the onrushing striker from having a tap-in.
  • 12'
Cherundolo being called into action on the defensive end now. He's having to deal with Eljero Elia today, and that will be a big ask.
  • 11'
Petric with a blast up and over for Hamburg. Not a bad look but never troubled the 'keeper. Still feels like these teams are getting to know each other a bit right now.
  • 8'
Hannover with the first chance of the night and it Cherundolo whipping in a nice cross to Ya Konan who can't find the target. The Hannover striker is a very dangerous player, has been very good this season.
  • 5'
Three fouls here in the early going. It's going to e that kind of match. Very chippy right now though both teams are trying to hold on to the ball.
  • 1'
    And they're off.
  • Hands have been shaken, coins flipped, and the teams are lining up for the opening kick.
  • Plenty of intrigue in this match. Hannover needs a win to stay in front of Bayern Munich for a shot at the Champions League, but Hamburg is never an easy side to face. Steve Cherundolo is the American captain for Hannover, we'll keep an eye on him today as he faces off against an extremely potent attack.
