That's it from me, Harry Slavin. Be sure to stick around for ratings and reaction from today's game. Be sure to catch Goal's coverage of this evening's Serie A clash between Roma and Milan as we'll have full coverage here. Until next time though, goodbye!
FULL-TIME GENOA 0-0 INTER. That's it in what has been a truly forgettable fixture. Genoa players celebrate as they confirm their place in Serie A for next season after a credible draw against a lackluster Inter side.
90' + 2'
Inter try for one last attack but Thomas Manfredini intercepts Nagatomo's pass into Cassano and the chance is gone.
Juan Vargas receives warm applause from the home fans as he is replaced by Moretti for the final stages. We're into three minutes of stoppage time now.
Both sides seem pretty content with a point this afternoon. Genoa have began to sit a lot deeper and are happy to let Inter hold onto possession for the final few minutes.
Marco Borriello takes the plaudits of the crowd as he is replaced by Ciro Immobile for the final five minutes.
It really has been a toothless display from Inter against a struggling side. They have offered nothing all afternoon and they have Handanovic to thank once again that they're still in this
Final substitution for Inter as Marco Benassi comes on for Fredy Guarin. Can he produce a late bit of magic for Inter in this fixture?
Marco Borriello looks in some pain on the floor. He has an ice pack on his head after a clash of heads.
Genoa are still happy to pass the ball about in midfield. A point would be a good result for them this afternoon and with Palermo currently losing, the home side would secure Serie A football for another season.
Inter do make the change and Lukas Spendlhofer comes on for Ranocchia. Inter's back three are unrecognizable!
Genoa have just made a change and it looks as though Inter are going to be forced into one as well as Ranocchia goes down clutching his ankle.
Antonio Floro Flores
Antonelli gets forward for Genoa on the wing but his cross goes into the side netting. That illusive first goal is looking more and more unlikely.
Another chance for Inter as Nagatomo wins a corner for the Nerazzuri. The set piece is over hit though and so is Guarin's shot from the edge of the area when the ball breaks to him, the Colombian finding row Z in the stands.
Those chances have jolted Stramaccioni's men into life. They've suddenly got their opponents on the back foot for the first time.
ROCCHI SMACKS THE BAR!! What an effort from the veteran! The ball bounces at his feet just outside the area and the Inter striker swivels and hits a dipping half volley towards goal that bounces off the top of the crossbar. That's the best we've seen from the visitors all game.
Better from Inter. Cassano swings in an inviting cross and Rocchi finally gets a run on his marker but he can't quite make contact with the cross and it goes behind for a goal kick.
Can Inter pick up there performance with the introduction of Cassano? He has indeed joined Rocchi in attack as Inter push to create a chance of their own.
Matuzalem fires just over the top for Genoa. They look the more likely at the moment to open the scoring.
On comes Antonio Cassano then. Ricky Alvarez is the player to make way. Inter are probably likely to shuffle the pack now and go two up top.
Guarin is trying to beat Genoa by himself now. He tries an audacious lob from the edge of the area but it goes sailing over the top. It looks as though Inter are about to bring on Cassano to bolster their attack.
Finally some action for Frey as he has to get down smartly to keep out Guarin's low drive. Inter waking up a little here.
Antonelli wins another corner for the hosts but when it's swung in Ranocchia is there to head the ball clear. Still we await the first real chance of the second half.
Ezequiel Schelotto has been screaming for the ball on a couple of occasions this half already but so far his cries have fallen on deaf Inter ears. I wonder if they're ignoring him?
Marco Borriello goes for the spectacular by attempting an overhead kick in the penalty area. He connects well with it but it sails wide of the target. Good start to the half from Genoa.
Vargas gets on the end of a cross for Genoa but his tame header is easily held by Handanovic.
The game is restarted with a throw in and Genoa have the ball back. They've looked good in retaining possession in the early stages of this half.
Floro Flores knocks the ball out of play as Grnaqvist is on the deck. He seems in some pain after a tussle with Guarin.
Genoa try a long ball in behind the Inter Back line but Ranocchia does well to shield the ball out for a goal kick.
Inter get us up and running for this second half. Let's hope for an improvement on the first half proceedings. At least it can't get any worse, I don't think!
The teams are back out in Genoa and Inter are about to get this match restarted.
Inter have barely had a sniff in that opening period and Sebastien Frey hasn't had a save to make yet. Can Inter turn it up a notch in the second half? there are options on the bench in the form of Cassano for Stramaccioni.
HALF-TIME GENOA 0-0 INTER. A relaxed first half from both these sides in the Genoa sunshine. The home side look far more threatening and, s always seems to be the case, Samir Handanovic is the only thing standing in the way of Inter going behind.
ALMOST!! Andrea Bertolacci looks to send a curling effort into the top corner but once again an outstanding stop from Handanovic is the only thing between Genoa and the first goal.
Yellow Card Matuzalem
Genoa really do have a huge chance to secure their own safety today and seal the fates of Palermo and Siena. They've breached the Inter defence a couple of times already. Could they do so again before the break?
It really is startling to see just how average this Inter side are. Guarin is trying to pull the strings but he is on a different wave length to his teammates.
Inter's passing is letting them down badly in the final third. Kovacic drives towards goal with the ball but his attempted pass is nowhere near anybody in an Inter jersey.
Yellow Card F. Guarín
Guarin was actually booked for that foul on the Genoa right-back. Luckily there is no further punishment for the Colombian and his side as the set-piece is well cleared.
Andreas Granqvist is causing a few problems for Inter down the right. He's brought down by Fredy Guarin as he tries to swing in a cross and Genoa have a chance to swing in a cross here.
Schelotto weaves his way past a couple of challenges in the Genoa area and swings in a cross that Daniele Portanova has to clear with his head. Rocchi was lurking if the big central defender got that wrong.
Cambiasso's position today really does exemplify just how deep an injury crisis the Nerazzuri are struggling with. The Argentine midfielder is having to cover at centre-back today.
Borriello tries to swing in a dangerous cross for the host as he controls the ball inside the box, but Cambiasso is across well to block the ball behind for a corner.
Fredy Fuarin picks out Nagatomo with an intelligent cross-filed ball to start Inter's best move of the game. It's worked back across and Schelotto is able to play Alvarez in behind the defence but his cross is well blocked.
The chance goes to waste though as Kuzmanovic drives his low effort straight into the wall.
This could be a proper opening. Schelotto is felled in a dangerous position an this is definitely within striking distance.
Ezequiel Schelotto is able to pick out Ricky Alvarez in the Genoa penalty area but some good defending ushers the Inter man off the ball. They've still to fahion a proper opening, the visitors.
The home side want a corner as a cross looks to come off Ricky Alvarez as he challenges in the air with Rigoni. A goal kick is all that's given on this occasion.
There's a spot of pinball in the Inter area and the ball breaks to Marco Rigoni on the edge of the area. The Genoa midfielder fires for goal but his shot hits his own player in an offside position!
The conditions at the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris are perfect, but currently the football is not! Both sides are struggling to find some sort of fluidity in their play.
Zdravko Kuzmanovic is picked out by Yuto Nagatomo just outside the Genoa area but he drags his first time effort woefully wide.
Floro Flores is seeing quite a bit of the ball early doors here. He finds space on the edge of the area and sends a shot whizzing past Handanovic's left-hand post.
Floro Flores tries to bring the ball out of defence for the hosts but his long ball for Borriello is over hit and sails out of play.
You can tell by the Inter line up that they're still struggling badly with injuries. It has been a torrid season for Stramaccioni on that front.
BIG CHANCE FOR BORRIELLO! The striker escapes his marker in the area and plants a firm header towards the top corner but is denied by a fantastic flying save by Handanovic!
First chance for either side as Fredy Guarin looks to have space on the edge of the area, but his shot is well blocked by the Genoa defence and cleared.
It's been a quiet opening as both sides look to feel each other out. Neither side can really afford to lose and that might be evident in each sides approach this afternoon.
Genoa are fourth from bottom coming into today's game but they would make sure of safety with a win here today against an Inter side that are sliding down the Serie A table.
INTER: (3-4-2-1) Handanovic; Ranocchia, Cambiasso, Pasa; Schelotto, Kuzmanovic, Kovacic, Nagatomo; Guarin, Alvarez; Rocchi.
GENOA: (4-3-1-2) Frey; Granqvist, Portanova, Manfredini, Antonelli; Rigoni, Matuzalem, Vargas; Floro Flores; Bertolacci, Borriello.
We are underway in a sunny Genoa. Lets take a look at the starting XI's for both sides.
We are just about to get underway here so I'll get some team news up as the game gets underway.
