Could do nothing to prevent any of the goals and actually managed to keep the scoreline down with a number of solid saves from shots on the edge of the box. Was let down by his defense. Still, beaten six times.
Had fleeting moments in which he ran strongly with the ball, but for the majority of the match he spoiled Gala attacks with lazy balls inside. Was easily outmuscled by Isco for the opening goal.
Was extremely lucky not to give away a penalty in the first half as he clipped the leg of Ronaldo. Much like his central defensive teammate, had no positional awareness and allowed himself to be overrun by the Madrid front line.
Looked pretty solid in the opening 20 minutes and outmuscled Ronaldo a few times. However, his positional sense totally capitulated as the game went on and was regularly caught out at the back. Left for dead for Ronaldo's hat trick goal.
Was employed to add a dogged presence in the middle of the park but didn't get in the face of the Madrid midfield enough times. Struggled with the ball at his feet, too.
Had a decent opening 20 minutes in which he was able to pick up the ball in his favorite area in between the defense and midfield. However, drifted out of the game terribly and eventually became anonymous.
Was fairly neat and tidy in possession but his display lacked a penetrating run or killer pass. Usually delivers well from set pieces but his free kicks tonight were easy to deal with.
Was unlucky in the first half as he was denied twice by both Madrid goalkeepers, but should have netted one chance when he missed from a few yards out. Earned his token yellow card in the first period as the red mist began to take over slightly.
Displayed a decent engine down that left side. However, was horribly out of his depth defensively and his dismal performance was summed up when he earned a yellow for a cynical challenge on Bale.
Led the line predictably well in the first half and was always chasing stray balls, but had to be withdrawn at halftime due to a shoulder injury.
Put in a decent shift up top as he relentlessly pressed the Real Madrid defense for the majority of the match. However, cost his side a way back into the match as he missed a string of great chances, in particular a header at the front post.
Made his return to the Madrid XI but was withdrawn early on after a collision with Sergio Ramos forced him off through injury.
Showed good ambition going forward as he linked up well with Di Maria initially, and later Bale. Did struggle slightly when Yilmaz or Drogba pulled out wide as he couldn't compete aerially.
Curbed the knack to get wound up by Drogba and Yilmaz and put in a solid, dependable performance at the back. Battled with the Ivorian valiantly with balls in the air and also looked calm and collected with the ball at his feet.
Had a poor start to the match in which he injured Casillas with a badly-timed jump. Prospered after replacing him as captain, though, as he organized his defense well and put his head on a number of balls into the box.
Had a difficult match at times as he was caught up the park when Galatasaray counterattacked, which resulted in his booking for a tug on Eboue. Not the worst performance, but a bit more concentration was required.
Flourished in his deeper position, from where he dictated play from the center of midfield. Sprayed the ball about the park expertly and was always available for the pass inside.
Bossed the midfield and did not allow the Galatasaray midfield trio to overrun himself and Modric. However, was very lackadaisical in possession and looked rather fatigued.
Opened the scoring for Madrid with a fabulous solo goal and was always involved in creative play in the final third. Bounced off challenges effortlessly and split the defense with passes time and time again.
Á. di María
Passing was decent in the final third and linked up well with the other attackers. Set up the opener with a precision ball, but was not as eager as usual to go on his signature dribbles.
Had moments early on when it looked as if he would continue his poor form, but like Ronaldo, prospered in the second period as he grabbed two goals with a nice finish and a close-range strike.
Was a relatively quiet first half by his standards but them burst into life in the second 45 minutes. Bagged a hat trick, with his third strike a true moment of genius. Also got an assist for Benzema's second.
Looked bright after coming on and tested Diego Lopez's gloves with a decent shot from the edge of the area.
Set up Galatasaray's only goal as he whipped in a good cross from the right-hand side for Bulut. However, looked out of his depth as Madrid dominated.
Was dogged after coming on but didn't really have too much of an effect.
Was called into action to replace Casillas early on and once again filled the position excellently. Was always a dependable presence behind the defense.
Came on late in the second half and looked comfortable on the ball.
Went on a few signature runs after his introduction as made his Champions League debut for Madrid.
