Claimed assist for third goal as long kick up field evaded Newcastle defence. Had no chance with Cabaye goal and was solid thereafter until reacting late for Remy strike.
Kept Ben Arfa quiet in the first period with tight marking before showing more willing to get forward in the second period. Gave Santon a torrid time after the break.
Won plenty of headers against Remy and used pace well to track the striker when the ball was played over the top. Strong as always.
Outmuscled by Ben Arfa early on but made amends with strong tackling and assured passing. Did not allow Remy any space to run into until muscled off the ball for second goal.
Not as effective going forward as normal but very solid in defence. Marshalled both Gouffran and Sissoko well as pair alternated.
Won plenty of ball in midfield and was accurate with his passing. Sometimes took one too many touches but won his side plenty of free kicks.
Kept the hosts ticking in the middle of the park as he traded simple passes with Barry and McCarthy. Does not always catch the eye but is mightily effective.
Took his goal superbly and was a constant threat in the final third. Wasted some half-chances in pursuit of a second but left Tiote in his wake with regularity.
Marked his 500th Premier League appearance with vintage display. Barely mislaid a pass as Everton controlled the middle of the park and made vital interventions when required.
Showed great pace to lay on opening goal but faded afterwards. Increasingly came inside to find possession before second half substitution.
Scored two and laid on a third in an excellent home debut. Battered Newcastle's defence into submission before tiring as the match went on.
Should have done better with first goal before reacting too slowly for the third. Distribution also put side in trouble at times.
Caught under the ball from Howard's long kick as Lukaku grabbed third. Did not show the leadership that his captain's armband represents.
Showed distinct lack of strength and pace for first goal and regularly caught out of position in defence. Set-pieces woeful.
Got forward well but lacked the final ball for Remy to work with. Not at his best defensively despite Baines causing him few problems.
Caught out of position regularly and did not have adequate strength to challenge Lukaku. Substituted at half-time.
Regularly misplaced passes and lacked any energy. Constant change of positioning did not help, with Baines especially keeping him on a tight leash.
H. Ben Arfa
Looked Newcastle's biggest threat in first half but was kept relatively quiet by the impressive Coleman. Forced Howard into decent save before half-time withdrawal.
Missed countless tackles in midfield as well as displaying a poor passing game. Lucky to see out the 90 minutes.
The better of Newcastle's two central players but that is no accolade. Lost the ball regularly, though at least attempted to push forward.
Got better as the game went on after offering little in the opening 45 minutes. Switch to the left allowed him much more freedom.
Took his goal well but isolated for much of the match. Struggled to compete with Distin in the air, though not always his fault given the service.
Gave solidity to the back line after half-time introduction. Helped Coloccini deal with Lukaku.
Scored brilliant goal and gave visitors much more control in the second period. Missed in the first half.
Supported Remy well after late introduction and caused problems in the air. Had only scraps to feed on, though.
