Steve Zakuani made his first start in over a year, assisting the opening goal in the draw between Dallas and Seattle.Steve Zakuani made his first start since breaking his leg in April 2011, helping set up the first goal in Seattle Sounders FC's 1-1 draw with FC Dallas.
Exactly 500 days after snapping his leg, Zakuani took 20 minutes to make an impact. He burst past Zach Loyd and laid the ball across the front of the goal. Mauro Rosales tipped it in at the far post to open the scoring.
Barely 10 minutes later, the host equalized. Blas Perez, who had missed 13 matches through an injury of his own, rifled the ball into the box, and Jackson hooked it home with the outside of his right boot.
Dallas trails the final playoff spot by four points with five games remaining.
