An early goal and some critical saves late helped Seattle jump into second in the Western Conference.
The loan goal came from Mauro Rosales after his charging run down the right was picked out by Fredy Montero and the Colombian slotted home.
But the story of the night was Seattle's defense holding firm and not allowing a goal despite Dallas getting off 25 shots during the match. Kasey Keller came up with four big saves and Seattle's defenders were constantly in place to block attempts as Dallas stormed forward time and again.
A second yellow to Daniel Cruz in the 56th, given for diving, didn't do much to slow FCD down, but the goal was not to be and the result leaves Seattle just in front of Dallas in a tight Western Conference race.
