FC Dallas 1-0 Philadelphia Union: Philly bounces back from early goal

Gabriel Gomez and Blas Perez each scored close-range headers in the draw between Philly and FCD.

The Philadelphia Union salvaged a 1-1 draw after conceding early to FC Dallas. Dallas has not won a match since a 2-1 victory over Montreal on April 14, and Philadelphia has been held out of the win column since April 21.

Peter Nowak and Jupp Heynckes will both be giving stern lectures about defending set pieces to their teams. Bayern Munich waited until the 88th minute to concede a corner. The Union got right to it, Keon Daniels inexplicably not following FCD's top scorer Blas Perez to let him head home his fourth of the season in the seventh minute.

Perez looked like he injured his shoulder on the play after tumbling into Chase Harrison. The last time Harrison collided with a forward, he gave Klaas-Jan Huntelaar a concussion and a black eye.

Michael Lahoud was lucky to stay on the field during his Philly debut when, minutes after picking up a yellow, his tough tackle injured Hernan Pertuz.

Philly equalized with a route one ball in the second half. Lionard Pajoy headed on a booted ball from the back and Gabriel Gomez stooped to head past Kevin Hartman. Again the goal-scorer and keeper collided. Gomez was subbed off shortly after.

In all, the game featured six yellow cards.
