Dallas keeper Kevin Hartman earns his record 100th shutout in FCD victory.

FC Dallas dominated possession throughout the game to come away with 1-0 victory over the visiting New England Revolution on Saturday night. New England struggled once again to find any composure or connections in the offensive third.

First Half

New England came out with the first good attempt on net in the 10th minute, Rajko Lekic took a right footed-shot from outside the box that was saved by FC Dallas keeper Kevin Hartman.

FC Dallas came right back and tested New England keeper Matt Reis in the 21st minute, Marvin Chavez took a right-footed blast right in front of the New England goal, Reis was quick to throw his body and make the smart save.

Dallas continued to test the New England defense with countless attack's and spells of possesion.

In the 34th minute FC Dallas midfielder Brek Shea trapped a cross right in front of the New England goal, Shea's trap bounced up high towards midfielder Eric Alexander, who had an promising chance on net, but Alexander misplayed the ball over the net.

In the 38th minute Shea took a beautiful left-footed shot from the left side of the box, however Reis was positioned well to make a save.

Second Half

The second half was more of the same for FC Dallas as it came on with an attacking mindset, however it took some time for FC Dallas to get shots on net.

New England had a frantic time in its box as FC Dallas had solid wave of possession around the 65th minute. Midfielder Marvin Chavez streaked into the Revolution box with the ball at his feet and made a pass towards forward Fabain Castillo, though Reis once again made a heads up play by tackling the ball off of Castillo's feet.

In the 68th minute FC Dallas showed more of its hunger to score as midfielder Andrew Jacobson had a curling shot from outside the box. Reis made a good diving save to push the ball away.

The breakthrough came a minute later for FC Dallas as Marvin Chavez earned his first goal of the season. Chavez showed great pace by chasing a ball down the right side of the field and moving around New England defender A.J Soares, Chavez then finished his play by pushing the ball past Matt Reis who was positioned poorly.

New England attempted to get back into the game but could not get chances on FC Dallas. Its best chance of the half came off of a Sainey Nyassi cross in the 82nd minute. Nyassi played a ball into the FC Dallas box that was poorly judged by Hartman, who just barely got a hand on the ball to put it out of play.

FC Dallas almost went two goals up in the 88th minute when Chavez took a great shot from the top of the box, However, Matt Reis made another diving save to keep New England in the game.

New England could not gain any further possesion in the final minutes of the game and FC Dallas walked away with a 1-0 victory.
