Columbus Crew 1-1 LA Galaxy: Keane equalizer earns draw

The Galaxy grabbed a point in Ohio without the services of Landon Donovan or David Beckham.

The Columbus Crew and the LA Galaxy battled to a 1-1 draw at Crew Stadium on Wednesday night in the Crew’s first match since the unexpected death of rookie midfielder Kirk Urso.

Landon Donovan (U.S. national team duty) and David Beckham (rested after attending the Olympic closing ceremonies) missed the match.

Jairo Arrieta gave the Crew the lead in the 47th minute, picking up a ball and cutting inside before firing home from the top of the box.

Robbie Keane tapped home the equalizer in the 64th after a clever run and a good ball from Sean Franklin, who nutmegged Dilly Duka on the wing before crossing for the striker.
