Ethan Finlay put the home side up 1-0 inside the first 10 minutes after being picked out brilliantly by Federico Higuaín and rounding Chicago goalkeeper Sean Johnson.
Jairo Arrieta made it 2-0 in the 25th. After winning a ball that was slipped through to him by Higuain, Arrieta managed to poke it through the legs of the onrushing Johnson to round out the scoring.
The loss snaps Chicago's best run of form of the year, with the club having collected eight points in five games prior to facing the Crew.
