A late penalty from Shalrie Joseph saved New England from taking a loss to Colorado on Saturday night. Earlier, Benny Feilhaber scored his first MLS goal.A Shalrie Joseph penalty in the 90th minute ended an eventful night in Colorado with both sides sharing the points after a 2-2 draw.
Benny Feilhaber opened the scoring for New England 25 minutes in, getting on the end of Stephen McCarthy's flick off a Kevin Alston throw and bundling it home with his head.
Colorado, which had the better of play for much of the night, answered in the 65th with a penalty from Caleb Folan after Revolution defender Chris Tierney took Sanna Nyassi down in the box. That play left the score level and saw the Revs lose Tierney to a red card.
The home side went on to take the lead just eight minutes from time when goalkeeper Matt Reis, who in New England's last outing stood on his head for 90 minutes in a 1-0 win over D.C. United, let Kosuke Kimura's ball from Colorado's half of the field bounce over his head and into the net.
Luckily for Reis that wasn't the last bit of drama on the night. Revolution sub Kenny Mansally earned the second penalty of the night minutes before the final whistle and Joseph stepped up to knock home the equalizer, leaving little time for either side to try and find a winner.
