The Honduran midfielder took advantage of a pair of mistakes by his former teammates to key a Chivas USA win in snowy Colorado.
Earlier this week they traded midfielder Marvin Chavez to Chivas USA in a move that ended with them landing defender Gale Agbossoumonde, and the Honduran took advantage by scoring twice to help his new club top his old one by a 3-1 scoreline.
Erick Torres opened the scoring with a diving header on a cross from Martin Rivero in the 56th minute after a first half that saw very little action on a cold, snowy day in Colorado.
Torres provided the assist the next time, but it was Chavez who did all the work and beat Clint Irwin, with the "Son of the Wind" breezing through the Rapids defense on the counter and lifting the ball over the goalkeeper. Chavez again took advantage of a defensive error in the 76th minute when Marc Burch misplayed a header. It fell to Chavez who again put the ball past Irwin and was off to dance by the corner flag.
The Rapids hit back late through a sure finish by Deshorn Brown, but it was too late for the home side to mount a rally.
