Sporting rode early goals to a win in Chicago, with Mike Magee on target again for the home side.

Sporting Kansas City struck twice early and held on for a 2-1 win over the Chicago Fire Sunday afternoon.

Graham Zusi and Benny Feilhaber both scored inside the opening 10 minutes of the match, and despite Mike Magee pulling one back late in the first half, Sporting held on for the win.

Fielhaber opened the scoring in the sixth minute. A long throw wasn't dealt with by Chicago, and the midfielder was waiting at the top of the box to hammer the ball home off the bounce, hitting both posts along the way.

Zusi made it 2-0 two minutes later. Whether it was a cross or a shot is up for debate, but the USA star curled a ball from the left wing into the back upper corner of the goal to give Sporting a dominant position early in the match.

As has been the case since his trade to Chicago, Mike Magee found a goal for the Fire. A long header and a defensive mistake let Magee in behind Kansas City's defense, and from there he slotted the ball home to cut the lead in half just before the break.

The second half brought about an improved performance from Sporting's back line, which held firm against Chicago's mounting pressure, but a red card to Dan Paladini for a terrible tackle in stoppage time essentially killed off the Fire's last hopes of getting anything out of the match.
