Chicago burned Montreal in Toyota Park, scoring three unanswered goals after the Impact took the lead. The Chicago Fire claimed a come-from-behind 3-1 win over the visiting Montreal Impact on Saturday night.
Marco Di Vaio scored for the fourth game in a row. Davy Arnaud headed on a long ball out of the back, and Di Vaio feigned his way past Arne Friedrich. A cool left-footed finish gave Montreal the lead.
Chicago equalized 10 minutes before halftime. After sustained pressure, Jalil Anibaba bent the ball into the box where Sherjill MacDonald used his temple to direct it past Troy Perkins.
The Fire went ahead on the hour mark. Alex intercepted an Alessandro Nesta pass out of the defense. He played a one-two with Alvaro Fernandez and hit a screamer into the top netting.
Fernandez scored one for himself in the 80th minute. Chris Rolfe skipped down the right flank and pulled a ball back to the penalty spot. Fernandez drilled a hard low shot back toward the near post to ice the match. Chicago moved to within one point of Sporting Kansas City atop the Eastern Conference.
