  • Im signing off, follow me @sportslab on twitter.
  • The game is finished and Mata makes an impression. Torres continues to underwhelm for Chelsea and it wouldn't surprise me if Lukaku can stake a claim at some point or another to start.
  • 90' + 11'
    GoalJuan Mata
  • 90' + 11'
The Spaniard is clearly delighted by his goal as he charges towards the stands.

GOAL!!!! Mata takes advantage of a poor play on defense and charges in the box and scores on the right corner of the goal.
  • 90' + 6'
Both of Chelsea's signings have asserted themselves. This bodes well for Villas-Boas if he can solve the striker problem.
  • 90' + 1'
11 minutes stoppage indicated for the Drogba incident
  • 90'
Ivanovic misses a free header 6 yards from goal. Great play again from Mata to create it. This boy is special
  • 89'
Ramires almost in on goal again he just couldn’t get the ball under his command
  • 89'
Almost a peach of a ball from Bosingwa who nearly finds Mata with a lovely idea. The Spaniard was on the same page and he’s looked very lively since coming on.

Lukaku gets his first attempt of the game as Anelka crossed the ball into his head and the ball goes sailing past goal.
  • 85'
Great free kick attempt for Norwich, the team almost equalized as Morrison broke free but he couldn't keep the ball down and it goes into the stands.
  • 84'
Norwich look clearly dispirited, it had played a good game but got taken advantage of by a stellar counter attack.
  • 83'
    SubstitutionFernando Torres Romelu Lukaku

  • 79'
Beautiful movement by Chelsea. Anelka starts the action by finding a charging Ramires. Ramires earns a PENALTY as Ruddy pulls the Brazilian in the box to stop him. Automatic red card.
  • 78'
Lukaku appears to be coming on....will it be for Torres, who has a yellow or someone else?
  • 77'
In Mata's first 10 minutes, he is clearly shown a natural ability technically.
  • 75'
Mata gets his first touch and immediately finds his fellow Spaniard who heads the ball towards goal. Ruddy saves but you have to like the play by Mata.
  • 73'
Bosingwa continues to be the only player who is showing anything offensively.
  • 69'
    SubstitutionDidier Drogba Nicolas Anelka
  • 69'
As sad it as it might seem, Mata's debut is a side note to Drogba injury. Anelka comes on to replace the Ivorian.
  • 68'
    SubstitutionFlorent Malouda Juan Mata
  • 68'
Five minutes have passed and Drogba is still down being set up on a stretcher. This looks bad.

  • First half ends and Chelsea has the lead but has been outplayed by Norwich. It will be interesting to see what Mata can bring to this side in the second half, it is clear that the blues miss a playmaker out there.

Some cool defending gets Norwich out of trouble momentarily passing their way out from the back. Chelsea win back possession though and Malouda gets a crack at goal in from the left. Good save Ruddy
  • 43'
Good effort by Bosingwa and Malouda, the rightback sets up the french man and he tests Ruddy.
  • 42'

WHAT A SHOT by Hoolihan! The midfielder blasts an on target 30-yard shot that Hilario is lucky to catch.
  • 32'
Chelsea has been playing on its back heel and it looks like the combination of Torres and Drogba is still ineffective.
  • 30'

  • 28'

  • 18'
Nice build up from Norwich, the club is passing the ball well and moving around well. Hilario stops the play intercepting but Lambert should happy with that.
  • 14'
Chris Martin’s second set piece is another poor one. A long punt from a free kick goes straight through to Hillario
  • 13'
Norwich are obviously weary of the home sides attacking power. When the canaries do win the ball back there is very little to aim at going forward at the minute
  • 8'

  • 7'

  • 2'
First effort comes from Ramires for Chelsea. The Brazilian hits one from 25 yards out but Ruddy turns it round the post
  • 2'
Norwich set up with a 3-5-2. That could well be transformed to 5-3-2 I’d imagine, especially in these opening exchanges
  • 1'
Ok here we go. Norwich get us underway kicking from left to right
  • The last time Norwich City won on the road in the Premier League was back in December 1994. Ashley Ward scoring the winner in a 1-0 verdict at Crystal Palace
  • During their last campaign in the Premier League, (2004-2005), the Canaries failed to record a single league away win, losing 12 of 19
  • The stats don’t boast too well for the new boys….brace yourselves soccer fans….
  • The canaries will want to maintain their impressive start to life among the elite. A very late Kenwyne Jones header last weekend prevented them from joining Chelsea on 4 points
  • Norwich has also made an unbeaten start to it League season, returning to the Premier League after a six-year absence. Canaries boss Paul Lambert does need to pick up his squad though after a demoralizing 4-0 defeat to League One outfit MK Dons in the Carling Cup last Tuesday night.
  • Andres Villas Boas has made an unbeaten start to life in the English top flight. A goalless draw at Stoke City was followed up by a stuttering win at home to West Brom last weekend. The club may not be firing from all cylinders just yet but with four points of six and the arrival of Spanish starlet Juan Mata this week, Chelsea fans, as always, have reason to be optimistic.
  • Good afternoon and welcome to Stamford Bridge for this Premier League clash between Chelsea and Norwich City brought to you by Goal.com
