Fredy Montero scored for the fifth game in a row, his eighth in seven games, to cap off a 3-1 win in Trinidad and Tobago.Seattle Sounders FC beat Caledonia AIA 3-1 in the CONCACAF Champions League on Thursday night. The Sounders now have two wins from two in the group stages and face Honduran side Marathon twice to secure a place in the knockout stages.
Alex Caskey opened the scoring just before half. Sammy Ochoa funneled the ball to the right, and Zach Scott slid to cross it. Caskey was left with a simple finish.
Ochoa himself finished a Fredy Montero feed for the second, slicing the ball over the goalkeeper from the top of the box on the hour mark.
The hosts pulled one back seven minutes later. Scott was whistled for foul in the penalty box, a call that looked soft at best, and Kareem Joseph pumped home the penalty.
Montero restored the two-goal lead within two minutes. Caskey laid a low cross into the box and the Colombian toe-poked past the goalkeeper for his eighth goal in seven games.
