Owen Coyle is still struggling to put together a full squad of 18 players following an injury-ravaged start to the 2011-12 campaign, but his men are slowly returning.

Dedryck Boyata, on loan from Manchester City, may be able to make a return following his ankle injury, however the young Belgian will likely face final examinations on Friday. Meanwhile, Mikel Alonso looks set to miss out once again.

Despite the potential return of Boyata, Coyle must still contend without Ricardo Gardner, Tyrone Mears, Chung-Yong Lee, Stuart Holden, Sean Davis, Sam Ricketts and the aforementioned Alonso.

David Moyes has considerably less to worry about on the injury front with Victor Anichebe the only player definitely ruled out, while Sylvain Distin (groin), Phil Neville (hamstring) and Jack Rodwell (ribs) could return following their respective knocks.

Phil Jagielka has also been noted as a doubt, but the England defender is likely to start once again after having injections in his foot to see off a knock.
