Did well to tip over Cornelius' early cross but looked nervous thereafter. Spilled Noone's cross to allow Campbell to open the scoring and struggled with any type of ball into the box.
His long balls to no one typified the first half but he was solid enough, dealing with Cornelius with relative ease. Not quite as assured after Campbell's introduction.
Set-pieces weren't always threatening but at least tried to mix things up with his delivery. Solid enough at left back.
Won plenty of headers at the back and caused a slight threat with his height from attacking set-pieces, nodding wide in the second half from a corner.
Beaten on more than one occasion by McNaughton on the Bolton right. Did do well to block Gunnarsson's early effort from the edge of the box.
Shielded his defense admirably and let others try do the damage in attacking positions. Kept the ball well enough in midfield.
The only Bolton player to show any real quality on the ball. Most attacks came off the back of his quick feet while he tested Marshall with a powerful drive in the second half.
Kept attacks ticking over with crossfield passes but wasn't quite able to unlock the Cardiff defense. Passed up the chance to shoot on more than one occasion.
Too often ran down blind allies and lost control of the ball in promising positions. Looked a shadow of the player who performed admirably in the Premier League.
Like Eagles, his dribbles mainly led to nothing as he frustrated and delighted supporters in equal measure. Managed two efforts in the first half, though both were off target.
Struggled to make an impact as Hudson managed to keep him fairly quiet throughout. Only chance of finding the net came when deflected cross was turned behind by David Marshall.
Barely troubled in the first half but showed all of his experience to keep out Danns and Davies out of the break. Arguably his best save came later, keeping out Turner's goal-bound deflection.
K. Théophile Catherine
Didn't foray forward as much as many have become used to but put in a decent defensive display. Ream's lack of attacking adventure did help him, however.
Managed both Lee and Eagles well on the Bolton right and got forward himself to great effect. Troubled opposite number Baptiste despite not being the quickest.
Marked Davies out of the game on his return to the side. Many have been calling for the club captain to be given a prolonged run in the side and you can see why.
Solid enough alongside Hudson, though would have had his heart in his mouth when deflection on Baptiste's cross headed goalwards. Marshall saved him from an own goal.
Saw early shot blocked before taking up more of a defensive role. Did his best to keep Danns quiet.
Looked the most likely of Cardiff's players to make anything happen in the first half, but faded as the match wore on.
Struggled to get going on full debut for the Bluebirds before being replaced at the break. Utilized in a holding role, his passing game never got going.
By no means his best performance in a Cardiff shirt as he failed to stamp his authority on the game. Can still pick a pass when given time.
Saw early deflected cross tipped over the bar by Lonergan but otherwise showed why he has not pulled up any trees since arriving at Cardiff. Failed to hold up the ball effectively as the visitors came forward.
Brought on along with Campbell at the break and created the goal with ball into the box. One of few involved to look Premier League quality.
Showed glimpses of his ability on the ball in short debut appearance from the bench.
Tucked away the opener from close range as he added some much needed quality to the game. Pace troubled Knight after the break.
