Referee: T. Kinhöfer
• Attendance: 71000
T. Müller 32', 49'
T. Kroos 33'
Luiz Gustavo 43'
M. Mandžukić 47'
B. Schweinsteiger 51'
M. Harnik 26'
Shaqiri's corner is easily cleared, and the referee soon puts Stuttgart out of their misery after just a couple of seconds of injury team. 6-1, Bayern are on top form, and Stuttgart have a lot of work to do - a torrid afternoon for them.
Perhaps time for Bayern to score one last goal - they have a corner which Shaqiri stands over.
It just gets worse for Stuttgart now. Dante comes in with a crunching tackle on Harnik, who is forced to limp off the pitch to receive treatment. A spell on the treatment table for their star man would be the last thing they need.
Shaqiri tries to spring the offside trap to latch on to a through ball, but is caught narrowly offside. Had he not been flagged, Bayern would have had another tap in.
Lahm does brilliantly to keep a weak pass in play on the right wing, before winning a free kick in the corner of the pitch, but the set piece itself is poor.
Bayern's attitude over the last minute has been summed up by Kroos declining the chance to take advantage of a shoddy pass from the Stuttgart defence, prompting a few whistles (yes, whistles!) from the fans. Can't please some people, eh?
Javi Martinez tries to find Shaqiri with a long ball, but the Swiss youngster can't quite manage to keep the ball in play.
Bayern are really just killing time until the final whistle now, and are playing keep-ball in the centre of the park. Perhaps there's time for one final flourish though!
And here he is. The Spaniard receives a rapturous reception from the Bayern crowd as he comes on to replace Schweinsteiger. As a holding midfielder, I doubt he'll have much work to do in this one, though...
And here it is - Javi Martinez, the most expensive signing in Bundesliga history, is preparing to make his long-awaited debut for the hosts...
Yellow Card Jerome Boateng
Red Card Vedad Ibisevic
RED CARD!! Ibisevic's appalling start to the season has continued, with the referee electing to produce a red card after a coming together with Boateng, who receives a booking for his part in the scrap. Unnecessary from the Stuttgart striker, but slightly harsh from the referee, perhaps...
And now Bayern have made their second change of the afternoon - Ribery is taken off, with Shaqiri replacing him. The Frenchman has but in a good shift today, even if he hasn't managed to get in on the goalscoring act.
A nervous moment from Manuel Neuer, who charges off his line to claim a cross, failed to get both hands on it, but is livid with the referee for not giving a foul against Ibisevic for the aerial challenge.
And now we're had the change. Mandzukic, who has scored in all of his Bayern appearances so far, has been withdrawn, with Claudio Pizarro replacing him. It's great for the hosts that they have such depth up front - Mario Gomez had far too much of the goalscoring burden placed on his shoulders last season.
Mandzukic produces a sloppy pass in midfield and gifts possession to Ibisevic, who plays in Harnik on the right wing. The Austrian produces a decent cross, but Lahm is on hand to cut out the delivery and concede a corner.
We're awaiting a Bayern substitution now, but it's Claudio Pizarro who's coming on for the hosts, rather than the €40m man. I'm sure we'll see Javi Martinez soon, though...
Schweinsteiger, who has been impressive for the most part on his return, tries to spray a ball out to Ribery on the left wing, but it's overhit and dibbles out for a throw.
The place has slowed down somewhat in the last few minutes here. Lahm tries to play in Muller, but his effort to latch onto the ball is half-hearted at best, but Stuttgart regain possession.
For the first time this half, Stuttgart manage to string a few passes together, but as Ibisevic tries to play in a team-mate down the right, his pass is misplaced.
Thomas Muller has the chance to claim his hat-trick as he finds himself in possession in the area, but he tries to play it across to Ribery, and Sakai plays it behind for a corner.
Ulreich comes out to claim a cross from Ribery. Bayern are still pushing here, and Stuttgart can barely keep hold of the ball.
With Bayern cruising now, the introduction of the likes of Xherdan Shaqiri and Javi Martinez seems to be inevitable. What a game for the Spaniard to make his debut in...
Bayern don't seem to be happy with a five-goal lead - they're keeping up the pressure, particularly on the right wing. Mandzukic tries to flat in a couple of crosses, but both of them are headed away. The Allianz Arena is alive.
Well, I thought half time had come at a convenient moment for Stuttgart, but Bayern have well and truly picked up where they had left off and the visitors look as though they were asleep. Three goals in six minutes for the Bavarians, who are somehow 6-1 up not. Unbelievable scenes at the Allianz Arena.
Assist Thomas Müller
Goal Bastian Schweinsteiger
GOAL!! This is getting ridiculous now! Muller finds some space on the right wing and dinks a cute ball in to Schweinsteiger, who marks his comeback with a headed goal from close range. This is incredible!
Goal Thomas Müller
GOAL!!! Once again Stuttgart's defence lets them down. Ribery finds Mandzukic in acres of space, and once again, the initial shot is blocked, but Muller is there to head home his second of the afternoon and make it 5-1! Incredible stuff here!
Goal Mario Mandzukic
GOAL!! Atrocious defending, and Bayern capitalise! Sakai is caught in possession by Kroos, who crosses to Muller. The 22-year-old's shot is blocked, but with the entire Stuttgart back line looking on, Mandzukic nips in and makes it 4-1!
And we're back! Stuttgart have got the second half started!
Half-time now, and it could not have come soon enough for Stuttgart. Goals from Muller, Kroos and Gustavo have made Harnik's wondergoal seem like a distant memory. 3-1 to the hosts at half-time, and it's been a fantastic 45 minutes.
GREAT SAVE!! Bayern have really exploded here, and almost grab a fourth as Muller arrives late in the box to smash a shot goal-wards, but Ulreich gets down well to make a fine save, and Tasci hacks it away.
Assist Philipp Lahm
Goal Luiz Gustavo
WHAT A GOAL!! Luiz Gustavo, who went close earlier in the half, receives the ball a full 35 yards from goal, lines up a strike and the ball flies into the corner of the net. Ulreich couldn't do anything about it!
Schweinsteiger almost gets on the end of the free kick, but it drifts just past him and goes wide...
Bayern have a good chance to threaten with a set play from the left, and given Kroos' performance so far today, they may well expect something here...
Controversy here! Ribery breaks down the left and crosses the ball into space. Mandzukic edges ahead of Boka as they both look to take possession, but falls over under the left-back's challenge. The referee remains unmoved by his pleas for a penalty, but he may well have been shoved there.
After two sucker-punches there, Stuttgart look to have regained their composure and advance into the Bayern half, but the hosts' defence stands firm.
Brilliant stuff from Bayern there. They came from behind to win just a handful of times last season, but have recovered from a difficult start to lead here. And another goal for Muller - he's been on fine form this season so far!
GOAL!! They've completely turned the game on its head! Bayern break in numbers and Kroos receives the ball 20 yards from goal and wastes no time in shooting. His strike is vicious, and almost breaks the roof of Ulreich's goal. Lovely effort!
Assist Luiz Gustavo
Goal Toni Kroos
Goal Thomas Müller
GOAL!!! Thomas Muller gets Bayern back on level terms! Mandzukic crosses to the 22-year-old, who smashes the gall goal-wards. Ulreich parries the ball, but Muller is there to tap the ball home and restore parity! 1-1!!
Good save! Muller is charged off the ball in the area, but despite some muted appeals for a penalty from the crowd, he gets up, plays a one-two with Ribery and forces a solid save from Ulreich.
Kroos hangs in another corner from the right wing and it narrowly misses the head of Dante. Ribery recovers the ball on the left wing, but despite some trickery, cannot produce anything to make a difference.
Boateng tries to spray a cross-field pass to Ribery, but Sakai nips in, intercepts the ball and launches a counterattack. Stuttgart's fight and desire, for the most part, has been far superior to that of Bayern so far.
Assist Arthur Boka
Goal Martin Harnik
WHAT A GOAL!! Boka floats a free kick in from the left wing, and Harnik meets it at the far post and smashed the ball into the top corner with a fantastic first-time volley that flew past Neuer and into the top corner. Stuttgart take the lead!!
SO CLOSE!! Kroos is played in 20 yards from goal, but soon finds himself surrounded by white shirts and is forced to surrender possession. The ball breaks to Gustavo, who lashes it goal-wards with his left foot from 25 yards, but it goes narrowly wide. That was an absolute bullet of a shot.
You just get the impression at this point that Bayern are starting to turn the screw here. Stuttgart are looking firm at the back, but they haven't made any inroads into Bayern turf since their early forays. Let's hope for some goals soon!
Yellow Card Christian Gentner
And we've had our first booking of the afternoon. Gentner hacks down Philipp Lahm as the Bayer captain looks to make a charge forward. Clumsy challenge, and a deserved yellow card.
Ribery charges down the left wing, and plays it back after finding himself at a dead end. The ball is eventually played in to Mandzukic, who can't quite pivot well enough and Stuttgart scramble it away.
All in all, it's been a lively start from both teams at the Allianz Arena. Stuttgart and Bayern both seem to be very capable of producing an opener, and Schweinsteiger has fitted back into his side's midfield seamlessly after a lengthy period of repeated injuries. Should be a cracker if the early indications are anything to go by.
Ribery goes on a trademark run down the left and is hacked down by Harnik. Kroos takes the resulting free kick and picks out Schweinsteiger at the far post, but the 28-year-old's header has no purchase on it, and it drifts wide.
Muller beats Boka down the right and pulls the ball back to Kroos. However, his pass is slightly behind the Germany midfielder, and the hosts are forced to build once more. It eventually makes its way back to Kroos, but his shot is tame and Ulreich gathers it with ease.
Harnik is once again presented with an opportunity to put the visitors into the lead as he latches onto a through ball, but is called narrowly offside.
Bayern swing in a free kick from the left wing, but Ulreich is brave and punches the ball away from Mandzukic's head.
Stuttgart are engaging in some steady passing at the back, but eventually Ulreich spoils it by kicking the ball to touch. Completely unnecessary - he was hardly under any pressure.
Badstuber, of all people, is made to take the corner, and it fails to clear the first man. He's decent at free kicks, but you really want your centre-backs in the area in such situations...
Bayern have their first opportunity to challenge the Stuttgart defence as Muller's cross is put behind.
It's been a great start from Stuttgart, who look to be hungry. Sakai charges down the right wing, but Badstuber gets across to make an excellent tackle. The ball comes to Gustavo, who is fouled by Okazaki in the Bayern half, and Bayern get some respite.
OFF THE BAR!!! Stuttgart are just inches from taking the lead as Martin Harnik dribbles in from the right wing, beats Boateng and unleashes a ferocious left-footed effort from around 12 yards from goal. However, Neuer sticks out a hand, and gets a vital touch to send the ball onto the underside of the bar.
Mario Mandzukic appears to be in some discomfort after being involved in aerial challenge with Serdar Tasci.
Stuttgart advance down the right and win a free kick. The ball is eventually played into Gentner, who is caught narrowly offside.
And we're off. Stuttgart get the game started and instantly send the ball long down the right wing and concede possession, but Mandzukic gives away a free kick in the centre of the park.
The teams are out on the pitch, and we're just seconds away from kick-off...
So, we have a huge match on our hands here - can Bayern continue their flying start to the new season? Can Stuttgart recover from their 1-0 home loss to Wolfsburg to spring a surprise on their rivals? A fascinating encounter awaits...
STUTTGART: Ulreich; Sakai, Tasci, Maza, Boka; Kvist, Gentner; Harnik, Hajnal, Okazaki; Ibisevic
BAYERN: Neuer; Lahm, Boateng, Dante, Badstuber; Gustavo, Schweinsteiger; Muller, Kroos, Ribery; Mandzukic
The teams are out, and the headline is that Arjen Robben is not included in Jupp Heynckes' 18...
Good afternoon and welcome to Goal.com's Bayern Munich's southern derby clash with Stuttgart! Borussia Dortmund's surprise draw with Nurnberg on Saturday has given the Bavarians a big chance to strike an early blow in the Bundesliga title race.
