Full time at Camp Nou. Barcelona reduce the gap between themselves and Real Madrid to seven points after a narrow 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad. Tello and Messi the scorers. Thank you for joining us on Goal.com!
90' + 2'
The likely last opportunity of the match from Sociedad as a Griezmann header from 12 yards goes harmlessly into the arms of Victor Valdes. That should be it now.
Four minutes of added time at Camp Nou. Surely Sociedad cant repeat the scoreline of the previous match between the two sides when they came from two goals behind to draw 2-2?
Yellow Card Joseba Llorente
Very intelligent play from Javier Mascherano just to suck in the challenge from Carlos Vela when Real Sociedad were putting Barca under massive pressure in the final third. The Catalans look as if they will see the match out.
Real Sociedad really going for it now. They are basically playing a front four with Griezmann being joined by the three substitutes, Llorente, Agirretxe and Vela.
The break in play due to the injury of Busquets have took the intensity out of the match slightly. Sociedad were looking dangerous but now Barca have started to boss possession again.
A break in play at the moment as Sergio Busquets is taken off the field with injury. Cesc Fabregas looked very worried at the state of his team-mate. Gerard Pique comes on to replace his compatriot.
Thiago dinks a lovely pass over the Sociedad defence to Messi who looked poised to score but a fantastic challenge from Inigo Martinez sees the ball go safely into the hands of Bravo.
Real Sociedad counterattack at pace down the left-hand side through Griemann, who clips a decent cross to the back post but Eric Abidal sees it out for a corner kick.
Jonathan Dos Santos
Barcelona make a double substitution as Carles Puyol and Jonathan Dos Santos are replaced by Eric Abidal and Sergio Busquets.
Assist Antoine Griezmann
Goal Carlos Vela
GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAL FOR REAL SOCIEDAD!!! Straight from kick off! Griezmann slides a pass through to Carlos Vela who coolly drives forward and slots past Valdes! 2-1!
Assist Daniel Alves
Goal Lionel Messi
GOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAL FOR BARCELONA!!! Dani Alves clips a pass over the top of the Sociedad defence and Messi dashes through to cushion a shot past the oncoming Bravo into the empty net!
Much better from Barca is the last five minutes. The ball is being moved around much quicker in the final third.
GOOOOOOOOAAAAAL FOR BARCELONA!!! WAIT!! NO!! Ohh so unlucky for Barca!! Dani Alves drives forward and slips a pass through to Cuenca who hits the crossbar with a shot from the right. The ball finds its way to Tello who smashes the ball at goal and it is going in but hits Alves before it goes into the net and the Brazilian is ruled as offside!
Barcelona are dominating the game again. They looked to have sensed some potential danger from Sociedad so have decided to add more intensity to their play. The visitors continue to defend well, though.
Barcelona should be two up!!! Lionel Messi goes through on goal and takes the ball around Bravo but takes a couple of extra touches which allows the Sociedad defenders to get back and smuggle the ball to safety! Too elaborate from the Argentine!
There are a few Tweets coming through that think Barcelona will again slip up and allow Real Sociedad to claim a draw. What is everyone's thoughts?
Messi finds space inside the box and drifts by the challenge of Inigo Martinez before attempting a shot at goal but a fantastic last ditch challenge from Gonzalez takes the sting off the shot and it goes straight into the arms of Bravo.
On-loan Arsenal man Carlos Vela is the player to replace Ifran up front for Real Sociedad.
Ifran is just down injured at the moment after kicking the bottom of Puyol's boot. He has been limping around for a few minutes and looks set to be substituted.
The second half is more stretched than the opening 45 minutes. Sociedad have came out of their shell slightly but as a result their is more room for the Barca players to operate.
Real Sociedad have just kicked up a gear in the past couple of minutes. They look as if they have more belief now. Their play has been that bit more confident.
Great chance for Sociedad!! Antoine Griezmann latches on to a long ball up the field and out-muscles Mascherano to go through on goal but hits his attempt straight at the chest of Valdes! He should have scored!
Dani Alves exchanges a lovely one-two with Lionel Messi inside the box and manages to drag a cross along the six yard line but again no takers for Barca! That was begging to be smashed into the net!
Barcelona kick off the second half at Camp Nou. Pep Guardiola will have mentioned to his players at half time the importance of grabbing a few extra goals here. Sociedad will be encouraged that they are only one goal down.
Half time in Barcelona. The Catalans go in with just a narrow one goal advantage over Real Sociedad despite completely dominating the match. Join us in fifteen minutes for the second half!
HUUUUUUYYYYY!!! A scramble in the penalty area and Dani Alves gets a lucky break with the ball at a narrow angle but blasts the ball straight across goal with no takers on the end of the shot!
Real Sociedad's passing has been woeful in the first half. They are being well pressed by Barca but they have struggled to string three passes together. Phillipe Montanier will be unhappy at how easily his side have surrendered possession.
All the play is in the Sociedad half but their is a distinct lack of chances being created by Barcelona. As the game goes on the Camp Nou crowd will only get more and more nervous.
Barcelona get another corner kick as Tello runs at pace towards the Sociedad defence and earns the set-piece from Carlos Martinez. The young Barca man looks their most effective weapon in this match at the moment.
Yellow Card Íñigo Martínez
Typical short passing play from Barca at the moment but they are struggling to find space in front of the Sociedad box. Aranburu is providing to be an effective shield for his defence.
The hosts have dominated the possession in the match and have largely been very comfortable. However the game is on a knife edge at 1-0 so a second goal is a must for Barca. Too many times this season they have took their foot off the gas and allowed teams back into matches. Much like the previous encounter against Sociedad.
A Barcelona corner kick finds its way to Jonathan Dos Santos around thirty yards from goal who tries a spectacular long-range attempt but it whizzes by the left-hand post of Bravo.
The game is being played at a very slow pace at the moment. Barca are spraying the ball around the park patiently and are in no rush. They are not receiving a lot of resistance to be fair, though.
Real Sociedad are defending with 10 men behind the ball at the moment. Nothing being shown in the final third. Looks like a matter of time before the Catalans double their lead.
@Adegboyega27 writes on Twitter: "barca will be looking to bounce back from their draw saga so barca will win here is my prediction Barca 5-1 real sociedad" A Barcelona win by a big margin is the general consensus among the Tweets.
A quiet period in the match at the moment. Sociedad just had a period of possession and their first corner kick of the match but the ball was easily cleared and eventually an offside given.
Fairly comfortable so far for Barcelona. Apart from Valdes's excellent save at his near post, Real Sociedad have not showed a lot in terms of attacking presence in the match. Still a long while to create chances, though.
Another solid save from Bravo at his near post. Messi exchanged a neat one-two with Thiago inside the box before blasting at goal from a narrow angle but the Sociedad keeper had it covered.
Aswell as scoring the opening goal, Cristian Tello has showed some very neat touches so far in the match. Could he be the latest superstar to come off the famous La Masia assembly line?
Cesc Fabregas attempt a long range shot from around 20 yards but it goes well north of the crossbar. He was still awarded far too much space on the edge of the box. Sociedad need to regroup.
Just the start Barcelona would want to ease any nerves they may have had. Sociedad must stay focused and not crumble though, otherwise it could be a long night for the visitors.
Assist Lionel Messi
GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAL FOR BARCELONA!!! Cristian Tello scores his first goal for his club!!! Messi picked out a sensational pass through the middle of the Sociedad defence for the youngster who stabbed the ball past Bravo from the left-hand side! 1-0 Barca!
Barcelona on the ascendancy now. Dos Santos and Thiago are bossing the midfield at the moment and Sociedad are being boxed in to their penalty area. Remaining solid as it stands, though.
HUUUUUYYYY! Two great saves from either goalkeeper! Bravo denied Messi's point blank save before the play was up the other end of the park where Victor Valdes denied Ifran with a wonderful save at his near post!
A few empty seats in the Camp Nou this evening, but this is more than likely due to the very cold weather in Barcelona. Pep Guardiola warned fans of the temperatures today and declared he understood if people did not want to make the trip to the match. Still a very decent crowd, though.
High tempo start to the match with both sides sprinting and battling for possession. The intensity soon subsides when Dos Santos takes out Xabi Prieto with a late challenge on the right wing. You feel that would have been a booking if it was later in the match.
Real Sociedad get us started at Camp Nou. Always an entertaining match between the two clubs so lets hope we have more of the same this evening.
The teams have took to the field now and we are only moments from kick off. Should be in for a cracking match tonight!
Barcelona are currently 10 points behind Real Madrid after Jose Mourinho's side edged out Getafe with a narrow 1-0 victory earlier this evening. The pressure is on for Pep Guardiola's men.
This is the first XI of Real Sociedad: Bravo; C.Martinez, Gonzalez, I.Martinez, Cadamuro; Markel, Aranburu; Prieto, Pardo, Griezmann; Ifran
The teams are in and this is how Barcelona will be lining up tonight: Valdes; Alves, Puyol, Mascherano, Adriano; Cesc, Dos Santos, Thiago; Cuenca, Messi, Tello
