Kept the score in Barca's favour at the break with an outstanding point-blank save from Khedira. Denied Ronaldo in the second period with a world-class save at the front post but should have done a lot better with Jese's goal.
Had an easy first half in which he dealt with the central Di Maria competently. Toiled slightly when faced with the pace of the Madrid front three but his positional play kept opposition chances to a minimum.
Had a running battle with Bale as the Welshman was employed down the right-hand side. Did brilliantly to keep up with the Madrid man and block crosses into the box. Also did well in an attacking sense as he was always up and down the wing.
Linked up with Messi like the days of old down the right and enjoyed exchanging passes with the Argentine. Defending was also superb as he forced Ronaldo down the left and even pulled off a cheeky nutmeg on the Portuguese.
Created the opening goal with a fantastic run through the middle and stabbed pass out to the left for Neymar. Found runners in behind the defence all match with stunning crossfield passes that hit their mark time and time again.
A typically assured performance from the Barcelona captain in which he quietly went about his business and continually retained possession with short, accurate passes. His performance perhaps lacked a few incisive passes but he barely lost the ball all match.
Threw his weight around from the get-go and quickly established his dominance in the middle of the park against the Madrid central midfielders. Screened the Barcelona defence perfectly and put out fires continuously.
Had an excellent first half in which he fought valiantly against the pace and power of the Madrid frontline. However, languished as the game went on and was extremely lucky not to give away a penalty as he bundled over Ronaldo in the box.
Started the match in the centre of the Barcelona attacking trio but was guilty of coming far too deep to receive the ball. Improved as the match went on as he eventually showed some lovely touches in and around the Madrid box.
An uncharacteristically quiet Clasico from the Argentine as he was involved in a running feud with Pepe. Was given very little time on the ball by the Madrid man, which affected his ability to drift in the whole. Did show flashes of brilliance with his dribbling, but wasn't his usual dangerous self.
A superb Clasico debut in which he was the most dangerous player on the park from the first whistle. Was always an outlet down the left for the hosts and opened the scoring with an accurate strike into the bottom corner. Gave Carvajal a torrid time with his trickery and pace and teed up Alexis Sanchez for the crucial second goal.
Didn't have the busiest night he'll ever have against Barcelona but, when called into action, was solid. Kept out a Neymar volley with an outstanding save at his front post as well as comfortably stopping some speculative efforts from the edge of the box.
Was given a torrid time by Neymar, especially in the first half. Constantly missed challenges on the Brazilian and allowed him too much space to drift in and score the opening goal. Improved slightly in the second period.
Had his usual Clasico battle with Messi and didn't completely come out as the loser as at times he marshalled the Argentine well. However, lost his head when dealing with him a few times which resulted in the Barca man getting the better of him.
Made a couple of vital interceptions due to excellent positioning that if not made would have resulted in a free path to goal for Barca. Was fairly dominant aerially but wasn't his usual assured self on the ball. Should have defended much better for Alexis' goal.
Lucky to have remained on the back as his fiery temperament saw him go in late on a few challenges, but escape further punishment after his first-half booking. Played out of position in midfield and looked rather out of sorts. Withdrawn for Illarramendi.
Didn't show as much attacking ambition as usual as he didn't burst down the left-hand side all evening. Had his hands full with Messi and Dani Alves defensively but when he did drift forward he was a threat as an extra wide man.
Á. Di María
Found himself as the central striker at times which did not suit him at all as he struggled terribly to hold up the ball. Faired much better when he pulled out to the right as he was able to run towards goal and whip crosses in.
Did not affect the game as much as he would have liked. Whenever he found himself in possession he was relentlessly pressed and he didn't handle the pressure too particularly well. Improved a lot in the second period as he begun to find space in the final third.
Was employed on the right of the central midfield trio and looked lost at times as he wasn't involved in the battle in front of his defence. Did show some guile when tackling but sorely lacked in any quality in the final third.
Was bereft of any service whatsoever in the first half, which left him resorting to speculative long range strikes. Was much more involved in the second period as he saw a rasper of a strike saved by Victor Valdes and should have been awarded a penalty after a tackle from Mascherano.
Got one opening in the first half in which he skipped past a couple of challenges before lashing a strike at goal that went harmlessly wide. Linked up well with team-mates on a couple of occasions but was withdrawn on the hour mark for Benzema.
Improved Madrid in the middle of the park as he allowed them to keep possession much better.
Gave Madrid a shout in the last few minutes as he ran through on goal before finishing confidently past Valdes.
Was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet as he crashed a strike off the bar from the edge of the box.
