Morelia - Cruz Azul
Morelia and Cruz Azul opened the Clausura 2013 tournament with a thrilling 3-3 tie at Morelos.
In just the second minute, Jefferson Montero opened the scoring for the hosts, to kick off the tournament with a bang.
In the 24th minute Javier Orozco tied matters off a clever feed from Mexican international Javier Aquino, but Hector Mancilla responded for Morelia just four minutes later.
The Maquina went into the locker room tied after Luis Perea’s 44th minute strike, and took the lead with Orozco’s second early in the second half.
But a late penalty from Rodrigo Salinas gave the Monarchs a share of the opening night points, kicking off the first weekend of 2013 action in Mexico.
