The Robins hope experienced midfielder Darren Carter can recover from a knock to the knee he took during the 1-0 loss to Oxford United on New Years Day.

Manager Mark Yates has a choice to make with his strikers. Shaun Harrad and Kaid Mohamed have performed well in the FA Cup this season and were only substitutes against Oxford, while Darryl Duffy and Jeff Goulding have impressed in League Two.

On-loan Reading duo Jake Taylor and Lawson D'Ath will both miss out as their loans expired on Jan. 2, but the club could look to bring the former back after catching the eye during his eight appearances for the club.

The away side looks set to rest a number of first-team players for the trip to the Abbey Business stadium, with regulars such as Tim Howard, Marouane Fellaini and Leon Osman expected to miss out.

Young defender Shane Duffy could feature at right back with Tony Hibbert (calf) and Seamus Coleman (hamstring) both missing through injury, along with midfielder Darron Gibson (thigh) and forward Kevin Mirallas (hamstring).
