Well. Plenty to take away from this. The USA did not look great, but chipped out a result. A late goal from Mix Diskerud, a great goal from Michael Bradley, they've largely covered some major flaws in this team. Russia looked good, but unlike the USA won't walk away from the draw feeling good about the result.
90' + 5'
Sure this time we've found our final result... and there's the whistle. Mix Diskerud and Michael Bradley with goals for the USA. Tim Howard with a huge showing in goal, and the USA pulls out a draw it probably didn't deserve.
90' + 4'
Yellow Card Sacha Kljestan
90' + 4'
Diskerud has a hit, similar to Bradley's, and it takes a wonderful deflection for the USA and finds net.

Just a minute or so left... and oh my goodness, the USA has pulled back level.
90' + 1'
Russia still giving pressure well up the pitch in the 91st minute and Edu gives the ball away.
Jones puts in another cross and Agudelo gets a head to it but it's not on target.
Tim Howard with another big save. Could have been a third for Russia right there.
A calamity of mistakes for the USA there. First, the foul from Johnson and nobody steps to the ball to stop Russia going quickly. Second, Goodson lost his man. Third, Howard was in position to make the save without a challenge from Goodson, but the defender risks it anyway and is called for the pen. That's how you throw away a result right there.
Penalty Goal Roman Shirokov
Yellow Card C. Goodson
Goodson picks up the booking.
Russia will have a chance to get something out of this... free kick, floated in... WOW. Really poorly defended. Goodson gets lost. And a PENALTY!!
That's a good bit of combination play, nice run from Altidore and he picks out Jones on a cut back. Jones puts it over the top, but maybe the best move of the night for the USA.
You've got to give credit to Agudelo for winning that headed and knocking it down to Bradley as well. Nice play from the youngster.
Yellow Card Roman Shirokov
What a hit from Michael Bradley. Takes it in stride, first time, hits it off the inside of the post and it goes in. The USA really should have been killed off by now, but now it's all square.
Assist J. Agudelo
Goal Michael Bradley
And out of nothing it's level. Agudelo with a nod down to Bradley, and the Roma man strikes it brilliantly.
Something to note for the USA... it's probably not going to be a great attacking night when Jermaine Jones is the guy being asked to do the creative work, but he's been that tonight. Not a lot of good combination play, but the Schalke midfielder has been a threat.
There's a better ball out of Jones. Nice run down the left and then a good cross in to Kljestan, and Sacha nods it down to Bradley who tries to hit a diving header and puts it over the top.
Good spot for a free kick, terrible free kick. Just not good enough from Jones there. Did a nice job to win the set piece and then wasted it.
Too many sloppy giveaways from the USA, but even with that said a chance nearly falls for Altidore. Johnson with a great run down the left and a good ball in to the big forward, but his first touch let him down.
Howard has been called on several times already this half. The more this game gets stretched out the worse it gets for the USA. Always nice to have the Everton keeper in goal, but it would be equally nice to see him have a night where he didn't have to make so many saves to keep the ream in it.
Now Kljestan is on for Gomez. Gomez was out wide most of the match. Not his best effort, but he also wasn't in his most comfortable position.
Agudelo does come on for Gatt. After a bit of a slow start, Gatt really came into the game. Not a bad debut.
Joshua Alexander Gatt
Nice move from Russia ends with a cross and a headed shot. Howard makes the save rather easily, but the Russians continue to be very clever with the way they attack.
Looks like Juan Agudelo may be about to get a run out. Might be able to bring something extra to this side.
Russia has been trying to slip in behind regularly, but that's about the fourth or fifth time an offside has killed off a move.
Russia also deserves a lot of credit for being able to hold the ball in tight spots. Well worked around the U.S. box despite the USA having plenty of players packed in there.
Russia has done a really nice job of getting back behind the ball on the rare occasion that the USA has had a chance to break. Lot of credit to the home side is deserved for the effort on the defensive end.
That's interesting. Howard comes out to try and cut an angle, forward goes down, ref gives a yellow card for a dive. Looks like a good call, at the very least he left the back leg in if there was contact at all.
Yellow Card Aleksandr Kokorin
Yellow Card Denis Glushakov
Still a big threat for Russia on the counterattack. The USA has to be mindful of that. This time Cameron is able to chase back and win the ball.
Bradley comes back the other way and tries to test his luck but the shot is blocked away.
Now it's Howard being forced into action and he makes a really nice save. Diving to his right to push the ball away.
Gatt with a snapshot on goal after a nice run forward from Jones. Well saved, but again.. it's better from the Americans.
And the second half is under way. No changes for the USA at the break.
Halftime about to end. Teams are back out.
Interesting half. Russia clearly dominated the opening half hour, but the USA came back into it a bit in the later going. One sloppy pass gave up a goal, and that's the difference.
45' + 2'
Altidore called for a foul, and that'll be the final whistle of the first half.
45' + 1'
Gomez earns a free kick and then takes it himself. Maybe a bit too far out for a hit at goal and he floats it up over the top.
The USA is still giving the ball away coming out of the back. Something that will have to get fixed.
Gomez called for a foul, and it's a good call. Effort foul from Gomez who was trying to get the USA onto the break.
Altidore tries to deaden a ball for Gatt. Nice idea, defense got it clear, but another solid move from the USA.
Well, it all started very poorly for the USA, but now the visiting side has come back into it and we've got a pretty even game going. Gomez has a hit, blocked away and then Chandler throws in another cross. Much better out of Klinsmann's side over the last 10-15 minutes.
Altidore with a real crack at goal. He couldn't keep it down, but it was a nice take.
Gomez called for a foul as he chased in to challenge the keeper. Not a foul if you ask me, but you didn't. Much better out of the USA now. Starting to find spaces in behind Russia.
Jones a bit slow to get up after taking a little knock.
Williams has really come on in the last couple of minutes. He helped set up the Goodson chance and has now tracked all the way back to win a ball for the U.S. and kill a break from Russia. Chandler getting into the act as well, getting on the end of a ball from Jones and putting in another cross. USA coming back into it a bit.
Chandler tries to whip in a cross but can't get the angle right and it's out for a goalkick.
The USA has managed to work a corner, Goodson won the first ball and it came back to him for a shot. Right at the goalkeeper, but at least a sign of like from the USA.
Russia called for offside. Not so sure on the replay that the assistant ref got it right.
Yellow Card Michael Bradley
Bradley picks up a booking. Another foul to kill off a Russian break forward.
Gatt called for a foul. Not a great debut to this point.
More of the same. It's all Russia early on. This high pressing line from the European side is crushing the USA's ability to move the ball around the pitch confidently.
Cameron had to come across and cover up another chance for Russia. Goodson was caught a bit out of position and another chance for the home team. The USA really has to get some kind of grasp on this game or it could get ugly.
Bad to worse for the USA. Bocanegra looks like he's coming off the pitch with an injury.
Cameron now with the giveaway, and the USA just can't find a confident pass. Bradley gives away a foul in the midfield to slow play again, and Russia is back on the ball moving it around well.
Sadly for Russia, the goalscorer, who was making his debut, has now been subbed off.
This has been a terrible start for the USA, even before the goal. Now, with the goal, it's only gotten worse. Altidore won a foul to slow play, and Williams goes quick and gives it away.
Assist Aleksandr Kerzhakov
Goal Fedor Smolov
Goal Russia! The USA is down early. Sloppy pass from Williams after Altidore drew a foul and Russia took advantage.
Pretty frantic for the USA at this point. Another corner for Russia, and the U.S. scrambles to get it clear.
Gatt, with his second touch of the game, gives it away in the middle of the park. The USA has had almost none of the ball in the first couple of minutes.
Early corner for Russia, cleared but not all the way out. Second cross comes in and Gatt touches it behind for a second corner.
Early possession is all Russia, and Howard has to punch clear the first cross of the match.
And we're off.
Teams are on the pitch in Russia. We're just moments away from kick.
Also worth watching today: Jozy Altidore is back in the fold. Timmy Chandler says he's committed. Geoff Cameron and Carlos Bocanegra continue to build a partnership. How much will Herc be asked to drift?
Interesting to see Gatt getting the start in his first chance with the team. Not shocking, but still interesting. How Klinsmann decides to play with him in the group will also be worth watch. This team looks more like a group that can play in a 4-3-3 with Gomez and Gatt drifting wide and Altidore down the middle. Williams, Jones and Bradley are all much more suited to playing through the middle of the park, but we've seen Williams used on the flank in the past, so a 4-4-2 is certainly not out of the question.
Welcome in to Goal.com's live commentary of the USA's friendly with Russia. Klinsmann has announced his lineup so we'll give that to you now despite there being a while still to go before the game. Tim Howard starts off in goal with Timmy Chandley, Carlos Bocanegra, Geoff Cameron and Fabian Johnson in front of him. Michael Bradley, Danny Williams, Josh Gatt and Jermaine Jones, with Herculez Gomez and Jozy Altidore up top.
