Player Ratings: Parma 1-0 Inter

Goal.com rates the players on show as a late Nicola Sansone stunner at the Ennio Tardini leaves Andrea Stramaccioni's men without a win in three Serie A outings.

    Antonio Mirante

The keeper played a big part in maintaining his side's unbeaten start to the season at home with a string of quality saves. The stand out ones being from Cambiasso's first-half header and Guarin's thunderbolt in the second half that he somehow kept out.

  • Cristian Zaccardo

    Cristian Zaccardo

A solid performance in defense as alongside Paletta they kept the impact of Milito and Palacio to a minimum. He did not afford the Argentine duo any space and was extremely strong in the air.

  • Massimo Gobbi

    Massimo Gobbi

Parma only looked to the left flank when Gobbi ventured forward but he was unable to supply the forwards with any service. Defensively he was decent and kept Inter's options on the wings restricted.

  • Gabriel Paletta

    Gabriel Paletta

A no-nonsense performance from the Argentine, ensuring that the ball did not linger in dangerous areas with a number of strong clearances. He made some key challenges too, particularly his tackle on Palacio in the 21st minute.

  • Jaime Valdes

    3.50

    Jaime Valdes

The Chilean was the creative hub of Parma's midfield and he ensured that Biabiany was well supplied through the course of the game. His delivery was good and he almost found the net with a deflected free kick.

  • Afriyie Acquah

    3.00

    Afriyie Acquah

Mopped up everything in midfield and broke apart the play competently. He hindered the ability of Inter to create chances and also showed great desire to get forward and did so with real drive and power.

  • Marco Marchionni
    17

    4.00

    Marco Marchionni

Showed his attacking intent from the opening minutes as he supplied a dangerous cross which almost resulted in an own goal from Samuel. It set the tone for the evening in which he terrorized Nagatomo with his endless running.

  • Aleandro Rosi
    14

    3.50

    Aleandro Rosi

Drove up from the back and had a hand in Parma's early chance as Samuel almost put through his own goal. He got forward to support Biabiany and also kept the right flank tight for much of the game.

  • Jonathan Biabiany
    29

    4.50

    Jonathan Biabiany

Did plenty of running for his side and his electric pace did caused numerous problems for the visitors. He was capable of carving them apart at will and should well have got on the scoresheet with two decent efforts either side of the break.

  • Amauri
    15
    3
    3.00

    Amauri

Got into a good position just after the half hour mark but sent his header straight into the arms of Handanovic. He did the same again moments later from a set piece but he was pretty poor on the deck.

  • Nicola Sansone

Nicola Sansone Top of the Match

The 21-year-old had little joy up against the experienced Zanetti. The Argentine made it difficult for Sansone but he showed terrific determination and was ultimately decisive as he tore through the Inter defense to net an absolutely brilliant goal.

  • Samir Handanoviç

    3.50

    Samir Handanoviç

The Slovenian keeper did his best to keep Parma at bay for much of the game, positioning himself in his goal perfectly all night. There was little he could do to keep out Sansone's strike though, which nestled right in the bottom corner.

  • Javier Adelmar Zanetti
    25
    12
    3.00

    Javier Adelmar Zanetti

A typically astute defensive display from the veteran Inter captain. He kept the right flank completely out of bounds for the Parma forwards and also managed to motor up the other end of the pitch to supply an attacking option.

  • Andrea Ranocchia
    12
    17
    2.50

    Andrea Ranocchia

Allowed far too much space to the forwards as he failed to close down quick enough. This enabled Parma to make the most of their limited possession. He was rushed on the ball and failed to keep things tight at the back.

  • Walter Adrian Samuel
    9
    20
    2.50

    Walter Adrian Samuel

Almost turned through his own goal in the opening five minutes and it seemed to set the bar for his performance. He struggled to deal with Amauri's height and was fortunate the Brazilian sent his efforts straight at the keeper.

  • Juan
    10
    27
    2.00

    Juan Flop of the Match

Was skinned all too regularly by Biabiany and spent much of the first half chasing back to catch the Frenchman. His positioning still needs work as he was forced to make some reckless challenges.

  • Yuto Nagatomo
    15
    18
    2.00

    Yuto Nagatomo

The Japanese put in an industrious performance but it was not an effective one. He left Juan exposed far too frequently and was caught out of position by Biabiany numerous times as the Frenchman had the run of the pitch.

  • Ricardo Gabriel Álvarez
    11
    23
    2.00

    Ricardo Gabriel Álvarez

Moved the ball about well in midfield which helped Inter maintain possession early on. However, his influence waned as the game went on and he was unable to provide a creative spark to the team.

  • Fredy Guarín
    18
    21
    3.50

    Fredy Guarín

His delivery was consistently good all night and his powerful shot also posed a threat to Mirante's goal. A wicked first-half free kick crashed into the side netting and another piledriver after the break meant Mirante had to stay on his toes.

  • Esteban Matias Cambiasso
    12
    15
    3.00

    Esteban Matias Cambiasso

Covered a lot of ground as he helped out in defense but also tried to link the play to the strikers. He did not quite rise up to the task, but he did come close to finding the net himself though a Mirante save kept him at bay.

  • Rodrigo Palacio
    9
    19
    2.50

    Rodrigo Palacio

The Argentine found himself rather isolated up top as supply was poor from midfield. He tried to work some chances for himself but came up short against the rock-solid Parma defense.

  • Diego Alberto Milito
    9
    21
    2.00

    Diego Alberto Milito

Played on the shoulder of the last defender and moved across the back line well. Ultimately, he lacked the service to test the keeper as Inter struggled to create chances for the strikers.

Substitutions

  • Coutinho
    19
    10
    2.50

    Coutinho

Replaced Alvarez in the 73rd minute and stung the hands of Mirante late on.

  • A. Duncan
    3
    18
    1.50

    A. Duncan

Came on for Juan in the 86th minute and a yellow card was his only mark on the game.

  • Marko Livaja
    6
    14
    2.00

    Marko Livaja

Brought on for Cambiasso in stoppage time, there was little he could do to alter the outcome.
