Borussia Dortmund has no real injury worries going into their Bundesliga clash with FC Augsburg, after its impressive draw at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday.
Lukasz Piszczek and Ilkay Gundogan both picked up slight knocks during their Champions League clash, but Jurgen Klopp is confident both players will be available to travel to Bavaria.
The game also saw a return to action for midfielder Sven Bender who came off the bench in the second half and the German international is in place to start his first game for Dortmund since shaking off a calf strain.
Midfielder Jakub Blaszczykowski returned to training this week, but Saturday’s fixture comes too soon as he looks to regain his fitness.
Augsburg currently props up the Bundesliga table and has had no luck on the injury front so far this season, but there are a few positives for Markus Weinzierl’s side ahead of the game against Dortmund.
The right back crisis could be resolved by Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker, who returns from a knee injury.
The defender made a goalscoring return against Preussen Munster in the DFB-Pokal and his presence should allow Kevin Vogt to revert to his usual position in the middle of the park, having filled in at fullback during Augsburg’s defeat to Hannover 96 last weekend.
Ja-Cheoul Koo is also in contention to return to the starting XI after coming on as a substitute in that defeat, while Sascha Molders could return to the squad having completed 90 minutes for the reserves against Bayern II.
