Player Ratings: Norwich 2-1 Everton

Kei Kamara made a decisive difference as a substitute and grabbed one of two late goals, with Grant Holt also scoring to end the Canaries' winless run after Leon Osman's opener

    Mark Bunn

Made one good save from Jelavic early on but was otherwise untested until Osman headed home from close range.

    Russell Martin

Generally kept Pienaar at bay but troubled when Baines joined him to attack. Only really came into the game as an attacker late on, when he helped to supply the crosses that changed the game.

  • S. Bassong

    S. Bassong

Reads the game well, stepping up to make some good interceptions, and never allowed Jelavic to find space behind him. But Baines' cross just drifted past him to allow Osman to open the scoring.

  • Michael Turner

    Michael Turner

Allowed Jelavic to latch on to a long pass early on but was dependable as ever after that. Made one brave block to deny Fellaini on the edge of the box.

  • Javier Garrido

    Javier Garrido

Rarely involved. He got to grips with Naismith fairly easily but offered little as an attacking threat.

  • Bradley Johnson

    2.50

    Bradley Johnson

The conductor at the base of the Norwich midfield but he struggled to get into any kind of rhythm as Everton quickly closed him down. Too often conceded the ball sluggishly.

  • Robert Snodgrass

    3.00

    Robert Snodgrass

Faded out of the game a touch after a bright start, testing Howard early on after latching on to Hoolahan's through pass. Did not really supply the crosses Holt and Becchio might have thrived on, but still looked Norwich's main creative threat.

  • Jonny Howson

    2.00

    Jonny Howson

Has undeniable ability but simply looks as if he is going through the motions for long spells of the game. He was unlucky to see one shot blocked by the back of Holt after a mazy run but moments of promise like that were few and far between.

  • Wesley Hoolahan

    2.50

    Wesley Hoolahan

Never looks particularly comfortable on the left, and was an odd selection on the flank given Becchio and Holt might have benefited from the kind of crosses a traditional winger could have supplied. Produced one or two inventive moments, but not enough.

  • Grant Holt
    5
    0
    3.00

    Grant Holt

Mostly looked to run on to passes behind the Everton defence but simply does not have the pace to be effective in that role. Barged through to shoot on goal once, and then finally began to receive some good delivery from the flanks which he took advantage of to grab a dramatic winning goal.

  • Luciano Becchio

    Luciano Becchio

Came deep to hold the ball up and link midfield to attack but he was often too slow in moving the ball to unmarked wide players when he had the chance.

Substitutions

  • Anthony Pilkington

    Anthony Pilkington

Relatively quiet after his second-half introduction, but he did help bring more width into Norwich's game, which proved vital.

  • Kei Kamara

Kei Kamara Top of the Match

Made a massive difference to the Norwich attack with his pace and power. Headed home the equaliser from a corner before rising with Holt when his strike partner bagged the late winner.

  • Tim Howard

    2
    3.00

    Tim Howard

Was ready when called upon and solid, if unspectacular, saves from Snodgrass, Holt and Kamara. Claimed crosses confidently and could do little to prevent the late Norwich onslaught.

  • Leighton Baines
    2
    1
    3.50

    Leighton Baines

Produced a decisive moment of quality when he overlapped down the left and swung in a cross for Osman to head home. Otherwise, he was fairly reserved and generally preferred to cross from deeper positions.

  • Phil Jagielka
    0
    3
    2.50

    Phil Jagielka

Kept Holt and Becchio at bay but Kamara proved more of a handful and he struggled to cope with the new aerial threat in the late stages of the game.

  • Sylvain Distin
    0
    2
    3.00

    Sylvain Distin

Tasked more with coping of the threat of men getting in behind the Norwich defence, which he did successfully. Distributed the ball well and made one huge challenge to deny Holt, although it proved in vain.

  • Darron Gibson
    2
    1
    3.00

    Darron Gibson

A little sloppy, like Osman, early on, but as the match wore on the two central midfielders looked to have gained control before Norwich roared back.

  • Leon Osman
    1
    2
    3.00

    Leon Osman

Not always his usual composed self in the early stages but things got better for him after he sneaked behind the Norwich defence to nod in the opening goal. Retained possession with less trouble in the second half.

  • Steven Pienaar
    0
    2
    3.00

    Steven Pienaar

Quiet for the most part, but linked-up with Baines, as he so often does, to create the first goal of the game. Had his best moments when Fellaini drifted over to support him.

  • Seamus Coleman
    0
    1
    3.00

    Seamus Coleman

A good outlet in the first half, charging down the right and providing one or two decent deliveries from the flank. Made one vital interception, too, when he swept up behind his centre-backs to deny Holt.

  • Marouane Fellaini
    4
    1
    3.50

    Marouane Fellaini

Everton's main outlet, he controlled high balls superbly and brought others around him into the game. Early in the second half, with the Toffees in control, he dominated the game, but Norwich clawed it back in the final minutes.

  • Nikica Jelavic
    3
    2
    2.00

Nikica Jelavic Flop of the Match

Took a long pass down superbly to shoot early on, but was denied by Bunn. After that, he was disappointingly anonymous and his poor run of form continues.

  • Steven Naismith
    0
    2
    2.50

    Steven Naismith

Worked hard but struggled to stretch the Norwich defence and did not ask many serious questions of Garrido. Jelavic is not playing well but often the service from the likes of Naismith is not really good enough.

Substitutions

  • Bryan Oviedo

    Bryan Oviedo

Replaced Pienaar on the left for the final minutes.

  • Kevin Mirallas
    1
    1

    Kevin Mirallas

Replaced the ineffective Jelavic but saw little of the ball as Norwich pressed for an equaliser. Did test Bunn with one long range effort.
