Live Commentary

  • And that's also it from me on a good day for the blue half of Merseyside. This is Nicholas McGee signing off.
  • And that is all she wrote. A comprehensive win for David Moyes' men who outclassed Swansea in every department. The Toffees are up to second while the Swans drop to sixth.
  • 90' + 2'
A late chance for a consolation for Swansea goes begging as Routledge crashes a free-kick against the bar. Shechter is quick to follow up but his effort is blocked by Jagielka.
  • 90'
The home fans are streaming out of the Liberty Stadium. This has been a disappointing day for the Swans, but you have to give credit to Everton. David Moyes' men have been absolute superb today and fully deserve the win.
  • 86'
    SubstitutionMarouane Fellaini Bryan Oviedo
  • 85'
    SubstitutionSteven Pienaar Magaye Gueye
  • 85'
Two more changes for the Blues, Magaye Gueye replaces Fellaini and Bryan Oviedo comes on for Pienaar to make his debut for Everton.
  • 82'
    Assist Leighton Baines
  • 82'
    Goal Marouane Fellaini
Its finally 3-0 and Fellaini has the goal that his play has deserved. Baines lifts a free-kick into the area and the Belgian stoops to head into the top corner.
  • 79'
Everton could be six or seven goals up and Victor Anichebe could have had a hat-rick by now. The striker has a vicious half volley well saved by Vorm, before lashing another effort into the side netting after Fellaini did brilliantly to control a high ball and lay it into his path.
  • 76'
It should have been an excellent, excellent third for Everton. Steven Pienaar marauds into the Swansea half before flicking the ball into the path of the onrushing Baines. Baines tees up Anichebe with a terrific pull back but the striker can only skew his shot wide of the goal.
  • 73'
Swansea just cannot handle Fellaini, the Belgian loses his marker and meets Baines' corner with a powerful header which is cleared off the line by Leon Britton.
  • 71'
    SubstitutionDanny Graham Itay Shechter
  • 71'
    SubstitutionKevin Mirallas Steven Naismith
  • 71'
    Yellow Card Leon Osman
  • 70'
Ironic cheers ring around the ground as Leon Osman becomes the first Everton play to go into the book as he is penalised for fouling Routledge. Steven Naismith replaces Kevin Mirallas and Danny Graham makes way for Itay Shechter.
  • 67'
Its not Swansea's day, De Guzman chips a delightful cross into the far post but Danny Graham and Michu manage to get in each others way and the chance goes begging.
  • 65'
    Yellow Card Michu
  • 65'
How Everton are not further ahead is beyond me. Anichebe plays an excellent ball across the face of goal to leave Fellaini with a simple tap in for 3-0, however the 24-year-old somehow spoons the ball over the bar.
  • 63'
The red card has ended this one as a contest, Everton are in total command and are knocking the ball around beautifully.
  • 58'
    Yellow/Red Nathan Dyer
Nathan Dyer has only been on the pitch for 12 minutes and now he has been dismissed. The ball breaks free to Leighton Baines following a poor free-kick and the winger unwisely lunges into the tackle and catches Baines high on his shin. The referee wastes no time and promptly shows Dyer a second yellow to leave the Swans facing a near impossible task.
  • 57'
    Yellow Card Ángel Rangel
  • 55'
    SubstitutionAlan Tate Leon Britton
  • 55'
    Yellow Card Nathan Dyer
  • 54'
Its proving increasingly difficult to keep up with this one, Everton have been on the front foot for the majority of this game but they have to call on Howard's services once more as he turns Ki's long range effort over the bar.
  • 52'
After a good spell of Swansea pressure, Everton should be 3-0 up. Anichebe launches a counter attack and plays a precise pass into Fellaini, who surges into the box before playing the ball into Mirallas. The midfielder's strike crashes against the bar before landing at the feet of Anichebe, whose effort is brilliantly saved by Vorm.
  • 49'
Superb save from Howard, the American's poor goal kick is intercepted by Ki and Michu races onto the resulting through ball before powering an effort towards, Howard makes himself big and produces a fine stop to maintain his side's two goal lead.
  • 47'
A little bit of handbags early in the second period as Rangel and Fellaini tangle before the Belgian takes a little swipe at the Spanish defender. The referee quickly calms the pair and we're all friends again at the Liberty.
  • 46'
    SubstitutionPablo Hernández Nathan Dyer
  • 46'
We've had a change during the interval. Pablo Hernandez, after a disappointing display in the first half is replaced by Nathan Dyer.
  • There will be questions raised over Everton's first goal, but the visitors are well worthy of their 2-0 lead. Michael Laudrup has a big Half Time team talk coming up.
  • 45' + 1'
Swansea nearly get one back on the stroke of half time, Angel Rangel is played in by Ki but his shot is deflected over by Howard. Wayne Routledge works the ball back into the box from the corner but Rangel can only skew his far post delivery across the face of goal. Frustrating moments for the Swans.
  • 43'
    Goal Kevin Mirallas
Everton score a superb second, Phil Neville wins the ball at the back and sets his team off a wonderful counter attack. Fellaini plays a sublime ball into the path of Pienaar who races on to it before delivering a perfectly pass into Mirallas. The Belgian's shot is tipped onto the bar by Vorm, but the former Olympiakos player reacts quickest to nod home and put the visitors in complete control.
  • 38'
Almost a tremendous goal from Sung-Yeung Ki on his debut. The ball falls to the Korean around the 25 yards out and the former Celtic man produces a curling effort that just wide of the post with Howard well beaten.
  • 37'
Swansea have finally awoken from their surprising slumber, Jagielka produces a vital block to deny Routledge and Michu heads just over the bar from the resulting corner.
  • 36'
It could be 2-0, it could also be 1-1. First Fellaini sees his close range header blocked after he latched onto Pienaar's mishit shot, before Jonathan de Guzman has a chipped effort cleared off the line by Phil Jagielka after a quick counter from the Swans.
  • 31'
    Yellow Card Ki Sung-Yueng
  • 30'
There is absolutely no spark in Swansea's play at the moment and that has had a distinct effect on the crowd at the Liberty Stadium, who have been almost deathly silent for the majority of this first half.
  • 26'
Anichebe is a man full of confidence and he shows it as he bursts free down the left hand side, however the Nigerian cannot find the finish this time and shoots well over the bar.
  • 25'
From the replays, it looks as if Fellaini handled the ball in the lead up to Anichebe's goal. David Moyes' men have got a way with one there.
  • 22'
    Assist Marouane Fellaini
  • 22'
    Goal Victor Anichebe
It had been coming, and now Everton have finally taken the lead. Swansea again fail to delivery with a high ball which Fellaini nods into the path of Anichebe who volleys past Vorm from six yards.
  • 19'
Everton are well in command so far in this one. Swansea have come into the game a little more in the last few minutes but the Toffees are slicing through the home defence with consummate ease. Steven Pienaar fires just wide from the edge of the area.
  • 15'
Looking at the replays, that was a clear goalscoring opportunity for Victor Anichebe. Alan Tate was rushing across to try and cover but I don't think he would have made it in time. Swansea are very fortunate to still have 11 men on the field.
  • 12'
    Yellow Card Ashley Williams
  • 11'
A let off for Ashley Williams, Wayne Routledge plays a poor back pass into the path of Victor Anichebe and the centre back has to slide in and foul the Everton striker to prevent him giving his side the lead. However the referee decides not to dismiss the 28-year-old and shows him a yellow card.
  • 6'
Swansea are really struggling to deal with Marouane Fellaini. The Belgian is causing the Swans defence all sorts of problems from set pieces and you sense it could be a long afternoon for Michael Laudrup's men.
  • 3'
Swansea are on the rack here, the Welsh side fail to clear on the edge of the area and Anichebe plays the ball back for Kevin Mirallas, whose shot is excellently saved by Vorm. The Toffees quickly regain possession and its Vorm who saves the day again to keep out Mirallas' close range header.
  • 1'
Early chance for Everton, Leighton Baines whips in a wonderful ball from a free-kick and Michel Vorm has to react well to keep out Victor Anichebe's well placed header.
  • 1'
Everton kick-off and get the game underway.
  • Michael Laudrup gives full debuts to Pablo Hernandez and Ki Sung Yeung who come in for Nathan Dyer and Leon Britton. Everton make three changes to the side that drew with Newcastle, Victor Anichebe replaces the injured Nikica Jelavic while John Heitinga and Seamus Coleman also start.
