  • The Golden Lillies lost 1-0 to the Republic of Ireland in a friendly on Saturday. Shane Long scored the only goal.
  • El Tri beat Wales 2-0 in a friendly on Sunday. Aldo de Nigris scored both goals.

  • Following this match, Mexico has one more U.S.-based friendly, against Brazil on June 3 in Dallas, Texas, before beginning World Cup qualifying. The two qualifiers in June are against Guyana and El Salvador.
  • Oribe Peralta, whose 15 goals helped Santos Laguna win the 2012 Mexican Clausura, will likely miss all of those games with a muscular problem.
