The Colorado Rapids finished their season with a 2-0 win over the playoff-bound Houston Dynamo. Though it may have looked like the match didn't mean much, with Houston fielding its reserves, the Rapids managed a high note for the fans after a disappointing season.
The Colorado Rapids came out aggressively, taking full advantage of the disjointed Dynamo b-team. In the ninth minute, forward Kamani Hill took a strong shot with his left foot from 25 yards and it ended in the back of the net.
The visiting team attempted to tie it up in the 19th minute when Cam Weaver headed it toward the goal, but the shot was saved by goalkeeper Steward Ceus.
The Rapids doubled their lead in the 76th minute when Andre Akpan finished up a messy save by Tyler Deric, delighting their fans with a 2-0 win to end their season.
