Real Salt Lake 0-0 Vancouver Whitecaps: Playoff teams not rushing to risks
Two Western Conference teams played out the string, and will head into the playoffs on a non-losing note.

George Frey
Real Salt Lake and the Vancouver Whitecaps played out the last matchday of MLS and shared the points in a scoreless draw.
With both sides already qualified for the playoffs, neither team had anything much to lose or gain. RSL controlled most of the play, but a combination of faulty finishing and a good shift from Vancouver goalie Brad Knighton combined to keep the Royals' attack at bay.
Rookie of the Year frontrunner Darren Mattocks thought he had found his eighth goal of the year and an unlikely winner for Vancouver when he nodded home an Alain Rochat free kick in the 57th minute, but his effort was called back for the narrowest of offside judgements.
The point moves RSL up to second in the West, although if Seattle avoids losing to LA on Sunday, the Sounders will reclaim that slot. It won't really matter, though, as the two teams will meet in the conference semifinals no matter what.
Vancouver will play LA in the first round of the playoffs.
