The New England Revolution ended a 10-match winless streak with a 2-0 home win against Columbus Crew, which itself saw a four-match winning run come to an end.
After a drab first half, the Revs opened the scoring eight minutes into the second half. Dimitry Imbongo flicked a header to Diego Fagundez, whose shot hit the post and rebounded kindly to Imbongo. The Congolese striker tapped home into an empty net for his first MLS goal.
The Revs added a second in the 74th minute when Chad Marshall attempted to head a bouncing ball back to Andy Gruenebaum, but the ball looped over the keeper's head and into the back of the net for an own goal.
Columbus threw a late flurry at the home side, which saw it hit the post, but the Crew couldn't pull one back. The score ended at 2-0.
