The Columbus Crew conceded a late equalizer, then scored a questionable winner just a minute later, pulling out a vital 3-2 home win over the Philadelphia Union.

Columbus opened the scoring just before halftime. Sebastian Miranda picked out Jairo Arrieta on the far post, and the Costa Rican was composed as he chested down and finished on the volley.

Arrieta added a second with just seconds left in first-half stoppage time. The striker took down a long ball and maneuvered around the Union defense before slotting home to the far post to make it 2-0 at the half.

The visitors were given a lifeline with 25 minutes left to play. Antoine Hoppenot drew a penalty kick, which Danny Cruz converted to make it 2-1.

The Union tied the game, then gave it right back in a frantic final five minutes. First, Jack McInerney got on the end of a Roger Torres cross to dink a volley over Andy Gruenebaum and into the back of the net to make it 2-2. However, just a minute later, the Union were victims of a poor decision from the linesman, as an offside Milovan Mirosevic collected a ball inside the box and turned to fire home the winner.
