Seattle Sounders 1-2 San Jose Earthquakes: Quakes take huge road win
A big showdown in the Western Conference ended with San Jose taking all three points off of Seattle.

A battle of heavyweights in the Western Conference ended with the San Jose Earthquakes taking a 2-1 road win over the Seattle Sounders on Saturday night.
Simon Dawkins got the match off to a flying start with a stunning strike just 90 seconds in, cutting in on his right foot and pounding the ball into the net from 25 yards out.
Steve Zakuani got his first goal in 17 months to pull the match back level. Samuel Ochoa set the table for the recovered star to net, slipping a ball across the face of goal for the easiest of finishes.
As has been the case all season, San Jose got a goal from Chris Wondolowski to make the difference. Victor Bernardez fired a cross back into the mix after a partial clearance, and Wondo's touch was enough to redirect it home for his 22nd of the season.
With Wondolowski's strike coming before the 30 minutes mark, it seemed highly likely that there were more goals to be had, but the two defenses stiffened up and the goals from the first half would prove to be decisive.
