The Columbus Crew were on the verge of handing the Houston Dynamo their first loss at BBVA Compass Stadium, but Adam Moffat's late goal slipped through Andy Gruenebaum's hands to ensure the game ended at 2-2.

Houston took the lead 19 minutes into the match when Boniek Garcia found Brad Davis with some space at the top of the box. The midfielder's first touch popped up nicely, and he blasted an unstoppable left-footed drive in the upper corner with his second touch.

Columbus struck back though, when Dilly Duka found some space down the right flank. He cut back and found the onrushing Cole Grossman, who struck an unstoppable first-time strike that flew into the near-post upper corner. It was the first MLS goal for the second-year man out of Duke.

The visitors took the lead in the 57th minute when new DP Federico Higuaín spotted the charging run of Eddie Gaven through the middle of the Dynamo defense. The midfielder held off his defender before slotting past Tally Hall in the Houston goal.

With the Dynamo headed for its first home loss of the season, a pair of Columbus mistakes helped rescue a point. First, Chad Marshall failed to clear a loose ball in the box. Moffat ended up with the ball at his feet, and his strike went though the hands of Gruenebaum and into the back of the net.
