The LA Galaxy made easy work of their cross-town rival Sunday night, dispatching Chivas USA 4-0 in a one-sided SuperClasico. Landon Donovan notched a career-high four assists in the route.
Los Angeles started the match on the front foot, and Chivas USA goalkeeper Dan Kennedy was forced into two excellent saves on Robbie Keane and Marcelo Sarvas in the early going to keep the match scoreless.
The Chivas defense eventually did break, though. Donovan got in behind and dribbled clear of Kennedy before squaring to Keane, who was afforded plenty of time to take a touch and finish inside the box.
Just after Sarvas hit the post, the Galaxy found a second goal in the 64th minute. Donovan again was the provider, finding Juninho at the top of the box. The Brazilian then calmly lifted a sidefooted effort over the outstretched arm of Kennedy.
Just minutes later, Juninho grabbed his second goal, with Donovan bagging his third assist. The U.S. international had time and space to find his teammate on the back post with a clipped cross, and Juninho was unmarked to finish first-time.
The Galaxy weren't done though, as Donovan made it a career-high four assists in the 83rd minute, as his corner kick found the head of Omar Gonzalez, who scored his first goal since his return from a torn ACL.
