FC Dallas won 3-2 over the Colorado Rapids at home on Saturday night.
The visiting team took an early lead in the 12th minute as Brian Mullan raced to save the ball from the end line. The veteran sent it into the path of new dad Jaime Castrillon, who easily scored the first goal of the match.
As halftime drew near, FC Dallas awakened its faithful fans as Fabian Castillo scored from just outside the box. Minutes later, Jair Benitez celebrated his first MLS goal off a beautiful 30-yard set piece.
The second half began with proud moment for Dallas fans. Their beloved No. 10 David Ferreira scored his first goal since returning from his broken ankle, giving FC Dallas a 3-1 lead.
The Rapids looked down and out, but Jeff Larentowicz tried to keep their dreams of earning points in Dallas alive. The midfielder hammered in a long-range blast, closing the gap.
With 20 minutes to play, Castrillon took offense at a George John challenge and kicked out, quickly earning a red card. The battle continued with more yellow cards and a tough injury for FCD, but it was Dallas which left the pitch with a 3-2 victory and the three points.
