Houston Dynamo 2-0 New York Red Bulls: Houston leapfrogs NY to first in the East
The Dynamo remained unbeaten at the BBVA Compass Stadium in franchise history by beating New York 2-0 and usurping first place in the Eastern Conference.

The Houston Dynamo powered past the New York Red Bulls into first place in the Eastern Conference thanks to a 2-0 win at home on Friday night.
NY Designated Player Tim Cahill made his MLS debut in the Dynamo's fifth straight win.
It took two minutes before Houston opened the scoring. The Red Bulls failed to clear a Brad Davis free kick, with Bill Gaudette make a sharp save on a half volley before Jermaine Taylor eventually pushed the ball into the goal.
The New York defense will want the second one back as well. Mac Kandji dumped a casual long-legged cross into the box and Calen Carr jumped the highest to redirect his header into a bottom corner.
That finished the scoring after half an hour. In all, Gaudette made four blocks to prevent the scoreline from getting any worse as Houston continued to make the Red Bulls sweat.
